4 years into nostr and I still don't know which relays to add, how to add a relay, or what relays even do. How am I doing?

In most cases the best course of action is to do nothing. Which is also usually the most difficult thing to do.

I spoke to a mother today who really believes in Bitcoin. She runs events for Bitcoiners with her daughter, but she is super frustrated because, "Bitcoiners don't spend their bitcoin." She pours her heart out into her events, but she never even breaks even. She has become disheartened in this space and even thinks Bitcoin could fail because it is not being used as a medium of exchange. We should remember that @jack said the same exact thing not too long ago. This mother did recognize Jack and @cashapp's recent efforts to push Bitcoin as a MoE for merchants, and she is hopeful on that front. But I completely understand her concern. I also spoke recently to a Bitcoin film maker. He poured his heart and soul into a Bitcoin documentary and had high hopes of it going mainstream. He was left in utter disappointment when he came to the realization that his film was not catching on. He told me, "Bitcoiners just aren't sharing it with anyone." How tragic is that? Bitcoiners really need to put more effort into supporting other Bitcoiners, because no one else will! Normies won't give a shit until they have to! Bitcoiners need to step up!! Share posts from Bitcoin artists and creators. Shop products made by Bitcoiners. Help other Bitcoiners. Build things together. PAY BITCOINERS WHO OFFER VALUE FOR YOU. Stop expecting Bitcoiners to show up and work for free (I'm looking at you, conference organizers...)!! Thanks for reading my rant. I hope ya'll can share this for visibility. Bitcoiners are cool, but we gotta help each other or we'll be alone forever.

My health update. Full transparency #NEEDhealth 🟢🟢🟢🔴 2025 was red. I put back on all the weight I lost and more. I am at my all-time-high today. It sucks, but I have nothing to blame but myself! I have set some new goals, and I am committed to get back at it now. Bought some home-gym equipment. Taking up boxing again. Bought an air-fryer to cook more at home. Gonna create some routines and stick to them. Focusing on being more disciplined and saying NO to a lot more to things involving food/bad habbits... I'm not going to go crazy and burning out from workouts either, gonna just get in small workouts as consistent as I can, including lots of walking (pogo helps, and good music). Also going to get more serious about intermittent fasting again. That was going really well for me last year. Thanks for the encouragement and tips. I appreciate you guys and I will post more updates through 2026!

Home Mining Update...Winter is coming! It's fall right now in New England, 41 degrees F outside right now at night. My Avalon Nano 3S doesn't produce enough heat for my entire apartment (my toes are freezing right now!) because it is too efficient of a machine (props to Canaan)! Therefore, I just had to turn on my S9. I'll be warm soon. I also have a Bitaxe Gamma going (negligible heat). In case anyone is curious, there's where I'm sending my hash: 1.1 Th/s from Bitaxe -> Solo public_pool @Public_Pool_BTC 1 Th/s from S9 -> Solo CK pool @ckpooldev 9 Th/s from S9 -> Ocean pool mining @ocean_mining I'm splitting my S9 hash using BraiinsOS @BraiinsMining I haven't calculated my pooled rewards yet because I literally just turned on my S9 right now. But I'll report back in a week on how many sats I'm earning per day (not accounting for electricity cost, of course). Also, I'm working on self-hosting an instance of Public_Pool and also will soon be "non-pool" mining through my Start9 server with Datum Gateway. Work in progress

On today's episode of NEED runs a node from his @start9labs home server... - I purchased some inbound liquidity using @getAlby Hub. This was really cool and definitely wasn't this easy back when I was running a node just 2 years ago! Alby Hub has so many great features and ways to connect to other Lightning apps/wallets. ✅ - I moved a good chunk of on-chain sats to my node in anticipation of opening a few channels. I'll be opening first to @predyx_markets to continue my support of their awesome Lightning-enabled platform! ⚡️✅ - I did my first server wide backup including all apps. Not trivial, but again, easy-to-follow instructions are included by Start9, and so far, every single issue I've run into has been promptly solved after asking a question in their 24/7 live support Matrix forum ✅ - I followed more instructions to ensure I have a secure https local browser connection. ✅ - I found a nostr relay service in the Start9 registry marketplace - I'll be exploring these instructions soon so I can start my own nostr relay! This is all frickin' awesome and so empowering. Every Bitcoiner should run their own server and node. Do it!

Is nostr dead?

Why aren't my zaps sent automatically from the alby account I've had connected here since forever? Amethyst is bringing up all my lightning wallets when I press the zap button as if I don't already have a wallet connected. How do I fix this?
