It’s never been about the institutions, it’s always been about the peers

This is my friend's house in Kiev… or should I say, this was my friend's house in Kiev. War was such an alien concept to me, yet I don’t think I’ve ever lived in a timeline where, somewhere in the world, someone wasn’t fleeing their city because their home had been destroyed. Sadly, war is no longer an alien concept, and the entire world feels on the verge of becoming an unsafe home for all of us.
