It’s that time of the year again where I review my #Bitcoin security, and take the time to look at anything new that I may want to add. This year I’ve been exploring stateless hardware wallets and SeedQR…I might be missing the point, but it feels like technical masturbation to me. So instead of pulling out a hardware device that stores the seed on a secure element, I need to get my actual seed phrase out. Which means taking it out of a tamper bag, closing the blinds, covering any cameras, and loading it onto a device. I get being paranoid, but if you are, wouldn’t you be a touch worried that someone put a hidden camera somewhere, and the moment you take out your seed QR, it gets scanned and swept?

Been spending a lot of time studying various #Bitcoin entrepreneurs, and the companies they are building. Overlaying my opinions of these people & projects through the last 3-4 years and its wild how my opinions have changed. Not long ago, I viewed people like @jack and @jack mallers as the ones who were building the best of the best businesses in #Bitcoin...To be fair, I still to a large degree feel this way. The bothersome part is that people like @Alexander Leishman eluded my interest. Quietly building. No flash. Just principled execution of a plan. I knew of @River but paid it no mind. Now that the dust has settled, and some of the biggest players/fraudsters have been purged from the system. One of the only companies that has gone through this bear market without controversy, close calls, or lost funds is Alex's. He walks the walk and it shows. Bigtime.

This bear market has exposed a lot of bad practices such as using custodians like Prime Trust. Even some of the most trusted brands in the space nearly got caught. Strike and Swan just to name a couple. It also elevated the #Bitcoin businesses that are taking a slower and more network native approach, such as @River.

I feel as though I missed some sort of drama related to @primal and I am not 100% clear on what that was. Something to do with shadowbans or content filtering? Genuinely curious if anyone is able to fill me in.

Running your own lightning node is way too hard to do. Unless there are massive improvements made, running a well functioning node will remain well out of reach for the average person. In fact, I am going back to using them exclusively for lightning. I don't keep a lot in those services, so if they rug me it would be no different than losing my wallet. #Bitcoin

After eating One Meal A Day (OMAD) for quite some time, my relationship with hunger has changed completely. I didn't set out to do OMAD. Just been busy and feel like I am rarely hungry anymore.

I’m looking into using the #Bitcoin cheat code for my business. Just not sure where to start. We are a small contract manufacturing business that specializes in plastics. Machining and welding of all types of plastics products. The majority of our business is in the semiconductor vertical, but we touch nearly every industry. Zero of my customers pay in #Bitcoin but I just need some inspiration as to what I can do. We absolutely could mfg custom liquid cooling tanks for ASICs but there has to be more we can do.

Anyone have luck getting the @primal caching service up and running on Ubuntu server? Seems to build fine, but errors on a single part right at the end. Tried in NixOS as well. Not sure if I am missing something stupid, or what the deal is.
