I once listened to a lecture by the atheist high priest Daniel Dennet. In it, he advised his adoring fans to promote the macro evolution hypothesis as fact at every opportunity. But he strictly instructed that they not engage in debate. Rather, they were to just repeatedly drop it into their narrative as fact and move right on with whatever they were actually talking about. This concept of turning something into truth simply by repeating it enough times has fooled many people that I respect. It has also been used to great effect by Kesian economists. Many brains were trained when intelligent design was surpressed by simply repeating macro evolution. Maybe that's part of the reason why so many of us fell for soft money without asking enough questions earlier.
I suspect @Luke Dashjr understands this.
