Friendly reminder that Aqua is fucking fantastic and you should give it a try: Also slightly controversial opinion but Liquid+swaps > e-cash for any amount >2000 sats when it comes to usability. I'd rank things: Self-custody BTC/LN > Liquid+LN swaps* > e-cash** > custodial LN** * self-custody but permissioned network - kinda workable for zaps >2k given the new 0.01sat/vb rates. ** no self-custody
Gotta love traditional banking where a correspondent bank that you have zero relation with can casually skim a 60 USD fee on a SWIFT transfer (that took two weeks to arrive) πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯° If you're wondering... it's a 4 figure sum, peanuts. Madness.
Odd behavior with the bitcoin-core flatpak from flathub - I don't see any new updates or changes to the packaging github. Version 27.1 currently installed. And yet, today I see that there is a <30 MB update available.. to 27.1 with no possibility to see what changed or what it contains. Huh?
Opinion from a Non-EU observer: You know, people shit on the EU a lot due to a lot of their regulations sounding (and well, being) a bit dystopian. But if you look into it without preconceptions, the regulations make sense a lot of the time **as long as** EU institutions are democratically run and reflect the will of the people. So the solution is simple, be more active in EU elections and EU institutions, make sure you're actively participating and don't just disregard them in favor of local elections. If more EU citizens actually understood the importance and took them as seriously as national elections, the system would work a lot better. You can't opt out, you're simply silencing yourself.
