Honestly, what’s stopping you from buying $5 worth of stock in a company and writing in your bio “investor in ___” ?

I do bitcoin stuff. Heard about Bitcoin in 2011. Didn’t act on it until years later. 😅
Dear @calle , do you think eCash will get to the point where a few lines of code can be dropped into a project and , like magic, it now has access to #Bitcoin over Lightning over eCash?
The whole incoming and outgoing capacity problem is basically solved if we use a plethora of eCash mints to do our transactions with, no?

Is there any logic to the order in which the hashtags are shown in @primal ?
If there is, then the Eth heads are finder their way into our uncensorable social platform too 🤔
If Bitcoin is money for your enemies, is Nostr a social network for your enemies too 😅?

My #bitcoin channel (not a group chat!) on WhatsApp.
All about Bitcoin. I post once or twice per day.

I don’t think @dotkruger is on #nostr (yet) ?
But his latest interview with Bob Burnett is a great intro into mining and the possibility of a nation state or even an orchestrated coordination of nation states to attack bitcoin by switching mining capacity at the network’s most vulnerable moment in time: the block just before the difficulty adjustment.
The network expects more capacity so the difficulty has just I creased. Now we switch a lot of hash rate off. Now the network grinds to a block per day instead of block per 10 minutes 🤯
This means the next difficulty adjustment isn’t in two weeks in 4 years 😱
This is a serious attack vector.
Next time you cheer for another big mining project coming online in the USA 🇺🇸, ask yourself: is this really making the network safer in the long run?
Probably that hash rate should have been deployed in a not-friendly jurisdiction instead of centralised in the USA.
It would be great if there was an explainer somewhere about what a Lud6 and/or Lud16 are 🤔
@primal maybe in the next version 😊 ?

The fact that @Damus doesn’t show a button to post anything to a newly registered user is like the worst UX ever, no?
This is what confused me a year ago or so when I tried to use it for the first time. 🤔

Hey @Derek Ross
I loved listening to your recent interview in the Ben Wehrman podcast 😃
The fact that many relais can and do relay messages from censored individuals made me think 🤔
Could we access the stuff that’s behind the Great Firewall of China by asking them to run nodes on TOR, I2P and IPFS and having clients on our end that know how to receive these notes?
Or maybe TOR is enough for communication between relais but not needed for the “last mile” between a node and a client?
Seeing the direction that “free democracies” are moving, wouldn’t it be prudent to build this stuff now before we desperately need it? 🤔
Just some thoughts 😅
Cheers 🍻

A premium feature of a Nostr client could be the ability to repost your own notes some hours later.
Time zones affect who gets to see posts and resharing (automatically) means content shared in Europe or Africa will be visible in America, and that if Americans will be visible some hours later in Asia 😃
I stole this idea from @Derek Ross 😇
Nuzzel.com was an app and a service and was bought by @jack or at least by Twitter and stopped working soon afterwards.
God I loved Nuzzel. It would give me a short list of all the stuff that the people I follow where liking and/or resharing.
It was like the highlights of that day, in one handy list.
Could somebody please build a similar thing but in Nostr 😅 🙏
@Oscar Merry @Fountain
I’m wondering when I comment on a podcast, is that in fact not a Nostr message that I’m posting?
And if so, is there a way (outside of fountain itself) to view these messages?
Or are they more like centrally registered Lightning texts? Like the app Sphix Chat used to use. Or still does? 🤔

Hear me out.
“Community notes” like on twitter, but on Nostr 😃
When somebody is obviously wrong the community note that is visible to all, even those that don’t follow the person who wrote the note, can review it and vote on its accuracy 🤔
I’ve seen many times now that these notes aren’t abused or toxic but help keep popular messages honest.
Maybe this is worthy of its own NIP?
@jb55 @miljan
Who’s gonna build a carpool-over-Nostr app?
Would be great if there was a way to
1. Advertise your route
2. React to somebody’s route and request a pickup and drop off for a small #bitcoin payment 😊
Source:
PickupPal.com is… a carpooling site designed to coordinate drivers and riders planning to travel along the same route.
In May 2008 the Ontario-based bus company Trentway-Wagar… petitioned the Ontario Highway Transport Board (OHTB) to shut PickupPal down on the grounds that, by helping coordinate drivers and riders, it worked too well to be a carpool. Trentway-Wagar invoked Section 11 of the Ontario Public Vehicles Act, which stipulated that carpooling could happen only between home and work (rather than, say, school or hospital.) It had to happen within municipal lines. It had to involve the same driver each day. And gas or travel expense could be reimbursed no more frequently than weekly.
Trentway-Wagar was arguing that because carpooling used to be inconvenient, it should always be inconvenient, and if that inconvenience disappeared, then it should be reinserted by legal fiat.
