As you can easily see, Nutella's price increase is more than 100% in the past 20 years. The Ferrero family has not only managed to defeat inflation and thus the loss of purchasing power but also to make a profit

The most serious change in Nutella's recipe was the 2017 recipe with more skimmed milk powder, less cocoa and a more smooth, sweeter consistency, which triggered a lot of criticism from fans. In 2024 a vegan variant was announced, but this does not replace the classic recipe. Further changes in the past twenty years have not been documented, but the 2017 change remains a controversial topic.
Conclusion:
The price for a standard glass Nutella (450 g or 750 g/700 g) has risen significantly in the past 20 years, from around € 2.00–3.50 (2005) to € 3.39–5.50 (2025), with an above -average increase in comparison to general inflation. The reduction of the filling quantity 2021 and the price increase 2022/2025 have noticeably increased the costs per kilogram.
