Daily #4296 Looser but still closer to the goal balancing more with less. image
Daily #4294 Letting myself get a bit messy and loose. They grey wash seems to demand it because unlike many of the pre-prepared backgrounds where used spray paints or markers, the wash has left the paper in its more absorbant state. Less suitable for acrylic markers. image
Daily #4293 Went to an urban art supply store in the neighborhood. It was a good thing that stocked up on molotow markers before moving because they are difficult to find now due to the tarrifs. image
Daily #4292 saharabeige and calypso middle can be challenging colors to work with. Especially the beige as for some reason the sharp end tip of the marker for the moment produces a different color than the thick end. image
Daily #4291 Noticing that these grey wash backgrounds bring about a figure in the center. image
Daily #4290 The hanged man from yesterday appears to be sauntering forward. image
Daily #4289 Departure day. Looks a bit like the hanged man card of the tarot. This makes sense to me and in a positive light. image
Daily #4288 Final steps towards the new future. Thinking if I create tomorrow's daily while still in Berlin or wait until arriving in New York to see what happens when creating the piece in total exhaustion. image
Daily #4287 Like doing a series with a similar color combination and themes over the span of a week. It is interesting working in series of different time scales. image
Daily #4285 Constantly veering towards these sharp thin lines and wondering why. image
Daily #4284 Looking out the window at the sunlight shining through the complexity of a naked horse chestnut tree. image
From today in the streets of Berlin. Came back 20 minutes later and someone took it away. image
Chaos Duet x and y. Layered spray paints with torn papet as stencils and acrylic markers on thick board. 9 by 9 cm. Having largely packed all my belongings and given away whatever was not essential to me. Gave away some paper blocks that were too large and heavy. This has left me with under a week of only the paper for the Daily 8 x 8 project. However I realised that doing the daily was not enough and that doing anything digital is just not that satisfying. This spurred me to go and purchase a 9 x 9 cm block of 20 sheets of paper that claimed to be suited for acylics. These 20 sheets were sandwiched between two thick black pieces of board. These two paintings are the result of using these two pieces. I still have some spray paint left so have been putting it to use. Waste not. Want not.
If you are a U.S. citizen and opposed to your country's military being engaged in endless and costly wars I encourage you to sign this petition to get congress to limit the power of the executive branch to continue its assault on Iran and focus on the health and well being of U.S. citizens. I don't usually share petitions, but I have always felt aligned with the ideas of Charles Eisenstein. I believe this cause is a worthy one.
Daily #4281 Found my flow with this one. That always take a bit of time. In the beginning it always feels unstable. Also finding ways to embrace the looser line and shape quality that I get with the markers. Or perhaps I am more acutely aware of it than I have felt about it than before. image
