“Woman Sues National Park Service After Being Told She Can’t Use Cash to Pay Entry Fee” As someone who has spent decades car-camping all over the US, I’ve wondered if this would be implemented. The point is to establish monetary-surveillance over people who are “away from a fixed point of surveillance” for too long. And it’s ridiculous, because when I’m travelling from campsite to campsite, it’s impossible to deal with credit cards…you don’t have even part-time staff at many state parks anymore. You have to leave cash in a metal box. Which reveals how this is not about convenience in any way. Also, cash is legal tender for all debts (payments) public or private. Also, if you really want to bake your noodle: why are we required to pay to use “public” lands?
I mean this goes back a long way, so dyor. Where do you think we’re at? image
“Nearly 350 rebels were executed in the Goliad Massacre, and almost twice as many as were killed at the siege of the Alamo. The death toll would have been even higher if not for a Mexican woman known as the “Angel of Goliad” who convinced a Mexican colonel to spare the lives of approximately 20 doctors, orderlies and interpreters. Santa Anna’s ruthless treatment of the captured soldiers had the opposite effect than what he intended. The “Napoleon of the West” was no longer seen as a brilliant military strategist but a cruel despot. The Goliad Massacre hardened attitudes toward Santa Anna throughout the United States and inflamed and unified the Texas resistance. Less than a month later, as [Sam] Houston prepared his men for the decisive Battle of San Jacinto that would earn Texas its independence, he concluded his impassioned speech with the rallying cry: “Remember the Alamo! The Alamo! The Alamo!” His men thundered a reply with an addendum: “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!”
Whelp…I just hot-taked an Ayn Rand group on Twitter, and now realize I’m going to hate my Twitter inbox in the morning. Probably for the best. Been thinking it’s time to go full @ODELL [“Don’t chu know, you NEVER go full ODELL!] Anywhoo… Ayn Rand was a Narcissist, and knew how to inspire a cult. kthxbyyyeeeee!!!!!!
I paid no attention to this story until recently. But as a long-time player of Skyrim, who’s the most important contact if you want to kill an Emperor and get away with it? Not Secret Service. And not Housekeeping or Butlers. You need to infiltrate The Chef!
Might be worth pointing out that when we throw around how Bitcoin Miners only bring ~900BTC onto the market daily… …if I’m a miner and I’m selling ALL of my daily mined BTC, I’m going out of business. imo, we’ve already Halved.
Guy no Bitcoiner has ever heard of says Bitcoin is “compromised and lost it’s way” and gold will fix it. (yeah, I didn’t bother watching this either, just snarking)
In the next few weeks, we’ll discover if the “Halving is priced in”. Four years from now, we won’t ask this question again.
If you’re a TA autist… You need to check yourself and realize. Nothing does this every 4 years. Therefore your maths are not math. We don’t fully recognize what we’re dealing with. image
Checking out, had a great night. Talked to an old-friend about Bitcoin, she was excited it was up, wanted to sell some, I said “hey, you be you”, but explained as best I could how I felt Bitcoin was going to 300 or 400K at least, she was admissible and we parted with a wink and a smile. I offer this irl experience, no need to elaborate.
Is it me or have LN Network apps ThunderHub and RidetheLightning become worth than useless? I’m not hating, it’s just that over a year or so I can’t use them in any practical way. Don’t hate the player, explain how the game is actually still viable.
I keep hearing it said that Bitcoin keeps setting new highs and then immediately selling down, presumably instead of spiking up, up, up. Bear in mind that that’s just how normal, not-in-the-final-blow-off bull markets are supposed to act. The stair-step is our friend. image
Because followers of my account rely on me for fashion advice: The Pantone Color of the Year 2024 is: “Peach Fuzz”. I mean, can you make this shit up? Euro color-Fuhrer Pantone has decided that the color of every corporate creation for the next year should be the shade of an under-aged boy or girl or undecided’s private parts…? Because we need more ‘pastel’ in our lives at this Revolutionary moment? For those who don’t know, this is a tiny/big deal for how corporations outsouce their design, so expect to see this at a Walmart near you. Anyway, I’d have gone with Orange & Black, for many, many reasons, but I wasn’t consulted. image
Tried to go on Twitter just now, feel like I’m done with that for awhile. Hey, here’s a pic of a kitten! I dunno where we’re headed, but I appreciate that there is a special bond among Bitcoiners. And I’ll always value that bond. image
As ngu wins, it’s ok to bask in that. But the anchor of your ship is that you are your own bank, you are the captain of your people’s ship, you are a solitary and lonely pleb who is yet one of millions that understands the stupid-ass term from a stupid-ass pleb who imbued us with the term “Hodl”. What’s happening now is not CNBC. What’s happening now is your grand-children’s future.
I’m formally vowing: This #Bitcoin bull-run, for every $1k US cuckbucks BTC goes up, I will break whatever I’m doing when I notice, to call, hug, talk, just get close to a loved one in my Life to connect with them. Even if it’s difficult or awkward. And obviously over multiple 1000’s I will make multiple connections. I wish for this Commitment I’ve made in my Financial Life to be a Material Investment in my Familial Life. Otherwise, what is it all for?
Graham Elwood seems to be taking a big role in the Orange Pill Podcast, and I'm happy to see that. He's doing an excellent job, imo. For the record, and I have misgivings even saying this, but as I've followed Graham for several years, he's a recent Bitcoiner and a long-time surfer, so it's amazing that he made the move to El Salvador! I think he'll be happy there, and I hope he is! A couple years ago he publicly had a heartbreaking 'break' w/ Jimmy Dore when he said on livestream that he was absolutely in favor of mandatory vaccinations in the US. I quit following him after that, and so did Jimmy. Jimmy has extensively reached out to discuss an apology. Graham has never offered one. So...just for those who enjoy what Graham has to offer on the Orange Pill Podcast, I feel that's important backstory...and I'll leave it at that. Graham is not a dishonest person or a scammer, imo. But until he can admit his issues with endorsing forced vaccinations, I can appreciate him, but can't endorse him.
