The Pentagon staunchly refused early attempts to create legal frameworks for drone usage because lack of clarity benefitted them.
Many critics observed this would come back to bite them when drone warfare inevitably became ubiquitous.
Welcome to ubiquitous.

Hundreds of tons of dead fish wash up in Hokkaido; experts puzzled.
“A silver blanket of dead fish covered a roughly 1.5-kilometer stretch of shoreline around Toi fishing port in southern Hakodate on the northernmost main island of Hokkaido.”

Bitcoin is moving, and it’s tempting to believe that Bitcoin’s movement will be subject to the same rules as the movement of fiat assets.
And that’s likely true, give or take, for a moment or less.
But eventually Bitcoin’s movement will NOT be subject to the same rules as the movement of fiat assets.
Then the World Breaks.
If you don’t speak & read Chinese, then everything you think you know about China is propaganda.
And apparently, much of it was brought to you by Microsoft:
“Both the China Daily and the People’s Daily are widely considered propaganda tools for the Chinese Communist Party. China Daily is published by the party’s Central Propaganda Department.
…Microsoft struck the agreement with China Daily in September 2016, according to a news release from the outlet. China Daily said Microsoft would provide technology to help enable the outlet to target and profile users and establish the "Media Smart Cloud Innovation Technology Laboratory."
The mission of the "Media Smart Cloud Innovation Technology Laboratory" is unclear, although it appears related to the Chinese New Media Laboratory. A Chinese media scholar wrote in 2019 that the Chinese New Media Laboratory "provides data support for research on [China’s] international communication effects."

Hey y’all! Just a note.
I started investing in 1995.
Technical Analysis was an emerging thing, based on peeps who charted shit on paper.
Then became a meme based on peeps who charted shit with computers.
Then became teh shit based on peeps who ‘quanted’ shit via algos and very short ethernet cords to the Exchanges.
Then became a handful of trading houses w/ infinite access to the Federal Reserve.
TA/Technical Analysis is not a thing anymore. It’s dead. It’s shitcoining for inexperienced gamblers.
And the best - the BEST - aren’t spending fuck-all time talking to you.
I had a convo earlier tonight, and decided I wanted to share this shard of an imperfect understanding with all y’all, in case it inspires someone to look for deeper understanding:
The number of biological stuff science has grouped under the term “Hormones” quite literally rule our lives, and we don’t know it.
The handful of identified hormones in us are ill-understood, but generally accepted to define us, and often fuck our shit up.
It might be said that “Who Am I?” is a question answered by “What Is the Cocktail of My Hormones? That is who I am.” Because that cocktail determines how I feel myself, and how I present myself to others. Maybe, maybe not, dyor.
But do you follow me?
And there are many other ‘hormones’ that are even less understood. Vasopressin is an identified hormone that has been questioned for years because - while generally identified with fluid-management in the body - also seems to cause the severe emotional discomfort we experience in ‘break ups’ and ‘heartbreak’. Vasopressin may be a fundamental chemical compound that has forced humans to want to slash their guts as they fall off a high cliff for centuries on end…not because they lost a life-ending love, but just because they got bad chemicals in them.
None of this is to say that modern pharmacology has any real answers whatsoever! They’ve got some barely useful drugs that can be very useful in the right clinical relationships, yes.
More important to what all this is about:
If you feel, fundamentally, that you’re out-of-sorts, a misfit, an outsider, a loser, not meant for this world, etc. It’s very, very likely its that you have a hormonal imbalance. Your bad chemicals are in control of you. You can’t change this, but you can begin to work against it, and if you do, you’ll become a normal happy wanderer NPC like all the rest of us!
So: every hormone has a ‘balance’, usually provided by nature. For instance, mucuna pruriens (‘velvet bean’) is a naturally abundant source of L-DOPA, which is a biological pre-cursor of Dopamine. Meaning it provides an abundance of resource for your body to generate Dopamine. Dopamine evidently gives ‘meaning’ to life, so people who lack dopamine, or its building-blocks, experience life as having no real meaning. So by identifying the lacking hormone (dopamine) - and the naturally derived ‘balancing agent’ for your ‘imbalance’ - you can find firm footing for a study on how to get your shit together.
tl;dr: Hormones control us, and we don’t spend time learning about the very, very early science of them.
Hey, for fun, what are the 5 Oceans in the World?
No websearches, just a trivia question.
Just an idle thought…
In less than a year I’ll know whether there will be a US election in 2024.
Presently, I give it a 40/60 chance.
So at the first sign that it might be postponed/cancelled/etc, I’ve got my Plan B in place to gtfo the USA.
I won’t do that ahead of time, because I love my people, my country…and I don’t want to be a foreigner in a foreign place as the 4th Turning hits the world.
But while I love my country, I fear my government.
So I do have my bug-out bag in my closet.
Completely agree…this is just early reporting, to get the gossip out here... View quoted note →

Great points, and I can’t find more signal as yet on this story. My gut feeling is it’s true.
We’ll have to wait and see. I don’t own a Bloomberg terminal, so I can’t vouch for the CUSIP change.
Again, we’ll see. But I believe we’re on the precipice of banking collapse, because only an NPC doesn’t foresee this. View quoted note →
Can’t find more on the UBS story, other than the CEO saying (3 days ago) that everything is fine but IF they went under they’d look to a private buyer to take the bank over.
MSN
UBS may have just imploded:
“UBS Group AG is a multinational investment bank and financial services company founded and based in Switzerland. Co-headquartered in the cities of Zürich and Basel, it maintains a presence in all major financial centers as the largest Swiss banking institution and the largest private bank in the world.
Yesterday, UBS appears to have FAILED-TO-DELIVER on Bonds that were due.
According to rapidly-spreading reports, not only has UBS Failed-to-Deliver on Bonds, but The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) reportedly took action to COVER-UP the UBS Failure-to-Deliver; DTCC allegedly *** D E L E T E D *** the CUSIP Numbers for those bonds, so as a matter of record, those bonds "no longer exist." Apparently, they're simply "gone."”
