Next time, if we want to spend political capital, let’s be a little more surgical about it. Let’s focus most of our weight behind changing specific policy (like ending KYC/AML). What other top priorities should we rally around as a voting block?

I know the genius act doesn’t allow stable coin issuers to give depositers yield (which is largely seen as a gift to legacy banks), but what about a credit union or co-op model where depositors are granted shares in the issuing institution and thereby benefit from interest on t-bills held to back their deposits?

The system of elite power is corrupt to the core. There are layers of compounding evil occasionally seasoned with good intent (or at least good PR). It almost collapsed in 2008 and has been juiced on adrenaline and liquidity ever since. Bitcoin threatens that system. First they ignore you. Then they fight you. [Then they try to co-opt you]. Then you win. The HAVE to co-opt Bitcoin. They HAVE to pump our bags and fill their own. But Bitcoin is indifferent. It can be used to traffic children or used to end trafficking. It is simply an honest ledger. Some truths are uglier than others. And honesty is the one thing the elite cannot bear. The system will collapse on its own. It was always going to. And when as does, Bitcoin will be one of the few things that keeps working as designed. Collapse is not a destination, it is the path. Choose a different path now before the masses do.

Nowadays if I’m up past 10:30 it’s cause a kid is sick, but I used to love to wander the streets at night and feel the potential energy of the places I spent my days. The one light burning in a window. The schuffle of cats in a tree. The old woman who leaves her radio on all night to fight off the aloneness.

There are three main ways humans have organized with each other. 1. Do what we say or God will be mad at you. 2. Do what we say or we will hurt you. 3. We have this thing you want. Do you want to trade for it? In a hyperbitcoinized future, I believe modern nation states will collapse and many small experiments in 1 and 2 will replace them. Some people will stay where they are regardless of circumstances but many will migrate to where they are most aligned. Most of the experiments will fail but some will thrive. Bitcoiners will have ultimate mobility and will become the mycelial web connecting these communities together. My plan is to avoid the ideological capture of any of these groups and try to educate as many people as possible that number 3 is the only moral system of organization. However 1 and 2 are entirely acceptable as long as they are non-coercive and people are free to leave.

If I were in the UK right now I would leave. Especially if I had a young family. The “global south” is the new western frontier.

Me: work was hard. I’m going to go pass out in my hammock. Wife: NOPE! I’ve been with these kids all day. Me (to the kids): who wants to go hang out with me while I lay in my hammock? You can throw pinecones at me. Kids: ME! ME! ME!
