Preppers! This is something that I invented only to find that it is a thing. It is referred to as a suicide cord for the reason that when plugged into a live outlet the other (1.) male side is live! This is how I power my 120 V circuits in my house. When the power is out I use the (3.) key attached to the cord to LOCK OUT MAIN POWER. Then I bring the cord to my generator and plug it into an outlet in my wood shed. This powers my internet (allowing me to monitor the power outage online) fridges, and a few lights. I have a (2.) bare wire to monitor Amperes consumption and trouble shoot if the gen-set is being over loaded.
