I was feeling itchy today, then I realized that the price was around $20k for 9 months, then $30k for about 7 months, and now around $60k for 6 months. And that was only looking 2 years back! Back to building.

Early in my wife & I’s relationship I realized that if I just set a monthly calendar reminder, I wouldn’t be surprised by the oncoming firestorm. At work, I have done the same: board of directors meetings, quarterly reporting, end of month goals — all inciting moody & irritable behavior. Cycle-hacking at company level. Plan accordingly.

Predictive text doesn’t work so well when you type fast. I turned it off. I learned to type reasonably fast in order to get ideas down. For a carefully crafted business email, where trite turns of phrase and corporate vocabulary are needed, it works okay. But during inspiration, I can’t think of it as anything but a hindrance. Like a little man sitting on your shoulder, whispering the wrong words into your ear.

Why would any Bitcoiner complain to Apple about spams that send you sats on WoS? I hadn’t looked at WoS in a few weeks and found free sats there…not a lot, but who cares? Free sats!

But music has this strange quality which Alan Moore pointed out. It makes you feel things, and it doesn’t matter how old it is or even who made it. That feeling might be irritation or annoyance or reverence or joy…but it happens almost instantaneously. Visual art can’t do this. Rashomon requires multiple viewings or some understanding of the art form to break through indifference. The written word can’t do this - try reading Chaucer without training. Even dance can’t do this. So there’s potentially something divine about music. And perhaps its effects on a “society” are just a distraction.
