The following enhancements were made between May and October 2025. ---------------------- Web Application ---------------------- 🆕 New /zap command. From the text chat, you can zap sats to nostr users in the room who have a lightning address associated with their profile. This is a convenient way to bulk everyone the same amount, and include a message. Zaps are sent using nostr wallet connect. Review the /help command for usage details 💪 Enhanced Slides. Slides now render above the main canvas view and the active slide will not be redrawn when any part of the canvas changes from activity changes. IFrames support is now enabled for URL types not recognized as images or video opening up greater capabilities for in room mini apps. Video support has controls enabled but users need to play/pause on their own (no sync yet). A small bugfix done to resolve some height issues. 💪 Auto Advance Slide option. Room settings now include the ability to set slides to auto advance and loop. This may be done at intervals of 15, 30, 60, 120, 180, and 300 seconds. This can be useful for party rooms with a DJ using background graphics 🆕 New Recommend App function. A new menu option was added to allow nostr users to publish recommendation events for the app. Once recommended, the menu option is hidden for 3 days. 🆕 New ability to target users by long pressing, or clicking a button when viewing their profile. When a user is targetted, reactions sent will animate from the person sending them towards the person they have targetted. This allows for improved context for reactions and visual shows. Everyone in the room can be targetted by using a new /target command in the text chat. 🆕 New Sizeable Avatar Cards. In personal settings, users can now choose the Avatar Size under Visual Settings. This gives a bit more flexibility in scaling on desktop with larger screens vs mobile having smaller screens. The size of avatar cards will also influence the size of reaction emojis. 🆕 New features released during Nostrbama: The Game. Clicking falling animations now reward points (or penalties) to the user and there is a weekly high score winner. High scores are available from a new menu option. Users can also navigate each week of high scores using previous/next buttons. Various dates and periods of special emojis and points changes to mix things up. The Game is fully opt in and people dont have to play. The previous weeks winner is displayed prominently on the landing page for bragging rights. 💪 Enhanced Audio Player to support streaming a file from a URL, saving audio URLs with labels in a recently played list for replay, and sending the file name or url to the text chat so others know what is being played. 🆕 New Room Access Option to prevent anonymous user access. Accessed from room settings. This helps prevent potential abuse by users that aren't identified. 😎 Updated Homepage Header with a new Corny Chat logo created by Tekkadan. ----------------- Server Logic ----------------- 💪 Enhanced Room list on the home page for system administrators 🆕 Background process will now associate user npubs to room roles where previously only had the device ids assiged.
