🧵 As some of you may be aware, I devote considerable time to data analysis. Apart from my hobbies involving comparing the acoustical fingerprinting of various train locomotives by model and unit, I am periodically contracted to perform assessments of weather patterns. As it turns out, I was approached in late August to work through the data sets pulled from weather stations throughout the continental United States and other portions of the northern hemisphere. It's taken me several weeks of unique coding to apply algorithms to churn through the data in a distributed network in excess of 36000 CPU hours of compute using Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Additional efforts were then done to convert the gleaned information from the data into a visual representation. I'm happy to announce that the initial work is complete and I've got information about the upcoming weather projections for the forthcoming winter season.
