Just got back from a nearly 3 week vacation. Flew on the 6th and got back in last night. Didn't use Bitcoin at all. Was astonished how well Wise worked with phone for tap to pay though. For anyone traveling internationally I recommend it (or I hear revolut is similar). No need to use your American credit and debit cards and get zonked with fees or waste time with ATMs. Barcelona was amazing, particularly the Gothic Quarter. If you find yourself there with time do yourself a favor and setup a private food and history tour. From there we embarked on a 12 night cruise headed to Rome (well Civitavvecchia) with stops at Palma, Ibiza, Cannes, Corsica, Cinque Terre (La Spezia), Sorrento and Positano for the Amalfi Coast, Catania. We saw the solar eclipse at sea in totality. My first time ever. When we left Cannes we saw part of the international fireworks competition. And for our final sea day between Scicily and Civitavvecchia we saw a volcano that is routinely active and got great photos. At Rome we got a small group tour of the Colosseum during the morning and a golf cart tour at night of all the great sites. The next evening we had a food tour in Trastevere which was so very cool with great food before the place gets super lively. Did some shopping and had some stuff shipped back home. Overall a great trip with many memories.

The main thing that sucks about international flights is fickle wifi not wanting to work all the time. I got about 2 hours of semi napping on the 9 hour stretch and otherwise watched a few movies and enjoyed the food and wine. When we got back it took us nearly an hour to get through passport control and there was only 7 people ahead of us in our line. Much much slower then the similar processes in Europe when traversing the Schengen Area.

Got to see the Colloseum today. I took many more pictures but have on another device. It's something you really have to see in person. Did a small group tour with arena floor access.

Today I learned that 'volo' is Italian for flight. To fly is volare. Volo is also the name of a key character in Forgotten Realms D&D stories. And he very much gives off italian vibes but it turns out the name isn't from that or Leonardo but rather named in the likeness of Volo Bog in Illinois back during the TSR era.

We did a fun buggy ride this morning and now getting ready to leave Corsica, France for Cinque Terre, Italy. Been a super awesome trip thus far!

After the next leg down under 58K we will leave that behind forever.
