Viene de siete años en una celda donde cada libertad — el movimiento, la voz, el sonido de mis hijos — dependía de la decisión de otro. El candado era real. La asimetría de poder, total. Pero algo seguía siendo mío: la convicción de que el candado estaba equivocado. Que la dignidad no es condicional. Eso es lo que olvida quien es libre. Y lo que nunca olvida quien estuvo preso. Hoy, miles de venezolanos salen de sus celdas bajo una nueva ley de amnistía. No porque los que mandaban se volvieron generosos. But Phase 2 — free elections — hasn't started. Cooperative is not the same as democratic. Venezuela needs a transition, not just a management change. Every week without elections is a week stolen from 30 million Venezuelans. The test isn't stability. The test is the ballot.

¿Quién tiene las llaves de tu dinero? ¿Quién tiene las llaves de tu voz? ¿Quién tiene las llaves de tu identidad? En una dictadura, la respuesta a las tres preguntas es la misma persona — y no eres tú. Eso no es coincidencia. El control sobre la comunicación, el dinero y la identidad es la arquitectura del autoritarismo. Las herramientas para cambiar esto ya existen. La pregunta es si elegimos usarlas.

Who holds the keys to your money? Who holds the keys to your speech? Who holds the keys to your identity? In a dictatorship, the answer to all three is the same person — and it is not you. That is not an accident. Control over communication, money, and identity is the architecture of autocracy. The tools to change this exist. The question is whether we choose to use them.

This is a moment of real possibility. Not victory yet. The chavista structure is still there. Delcy Rodríguez is still in power. The armed forces still haven't answered to the Venezuelan people. A transition doesn't begin when a dictator falls. It begins when institutions are rebuilt, elections are real, and sovereignty returns to the citizen. We're at step one. The work starts now.
