As a society, we keep asking the government to stop abusers like Epstein.
The problem is that you don’t ask a greater abuser to stop abusers. Governments have a monopoly on violence and blood-soaked hands. They perpetuate human rights abuses, including state-sponsored human trafficking. The government is part of the problem in one way or another.
I’m concerned that the government’s mishandling of the Epstein case may silence survivors who would have otherwise come forward against their abusers. This could create a chilling effect, further discouraging survivors from speaking out.
If this describes you or someone that you know the only suggestion that I have is to build an incredible support system that loves you. Seek out the healing that you deserve. The government may never have your back but there are people out there who will. ♥️
I was thinking the other day about how the internet failed to provide more freedom but the truth is that it didn’t fail.
The world would have probably been worse and we will never know how bad it would have been.
Thank you all for being here. If it wasn’t for nostr I probably wouldn’t log online much at all right now. The Epstein case has almost become unbearable to watch unfold online. My heart starts to buckle under the weight of it all.
You guys remind me that there is still beauty in the world. There are still solutions to problems and there is still hope that humanity will discover more solutions. Thank you for being you.
