Do I question my photography skills? Yeah, all the time. The web’s packed with world-class photographers who live and breathe this craft daily. Me? I’m shooting on a decade-old camera and manage to get out maybe two or three times a month. While others have shot millions of frames, I’ve barely cracked fifty thousand. When I compare my work to theirs, mine often looks flat and underwhelming. Do I care, though? Not really. Photography for me is meditative - a way to connect with nature and capture a moment that’ll never repeat itself. You can’t step into the same river twice; it’s not the same river, and you’re not the same man. Landscape photography works the same way. I remember every shoot, every frame I decided to keep - the weather, the mood, the struggle to get it right. And I remember the feeling when I first see a print come to life - the quiet sense of accomplishment. Better photographers might get the spotlight, but no one can take away the moment you capture something real. I called this one Behind These Bars to remind myself that the only limits on my creativity are the ones I build. Don’t lock yourself in your own cage and then blame the world for it. image

It’s peak fall color. By then end of this week it will probably pass. The beauty of autumn is fleeting. You blink, and it’s gone. But I worry not, because next on the calendar is my favourite season. I might not have a new camera yet, but I’ll soon have new winter tires. image

Here’s a sad one. This place basically doesn’t exist anymore. One of Bulgaria’s highest mountain dams - drained almost dry by human misuse disguised as “green” energy production. It’ll take years to recover, if it ever does. I’m just glad I captured it then. Might not get a second chance. image

GM. It’s 6:50 AM. Been a while since I got this early for a sunrise shoot. Fingers crossed for some good light. Cya.

Doing photo vlogs in which I show the completed pictures I’ve taken during filming, turned out to be quite motivational. I sometimes take quite some time between shooting and editing (weeks or even months), but this pushes me not to be a lazy ass. 😅

Wish I had a longer lens to capture the more intricate details of the rocks and the shadow play. Unfortunately good optics longer than 200mm cost a fortune. Hopefully one day. 🤞 image

I love hiking in the mountains. My wife hates it. 😂 I figured that out pretty early after we met - and this photo was born out of that realisation. We didn’t make it to the highest peak, but I captured it from below instead. Truth be told, I doubt the view from the top would’ve looked any better. image
