For those that like their weather data cryptographically signed (for no apparent reason), open, and participatory - I have a project for you.
I made a crude weather station (temperature, humidity, and PM2.5). It posts data to nostr.
I plan to expand it, while refining it such that I can roll out a whole bunch in my town. Maybe with others help... around the world.
With nostr as a backend, anyone (or any nsec) can easily participate (some cheap hardware + wifi are all that's required).
Personally I want to track pollution data for when the smokey season arrives here. I'd also be interested in recording weather at high altitudes (I'm into mountaineering) for the lols. Probably others have their own uses too, but first - let's make data.
Next I'll fix a PM2.5 sensor issue, draft a NIP for weather data, and think of what sensor to add next. I'd also like to explore making a svelte case and form factor + maybe some autonomous aspects (solar for power + gprs for data transmission?).
Kindly stay tuned.

@darashi Iβm enjoying your book. Itβs an amazing curation of so much useful info. Thanks for putting it together.
