🎨Final Phase of the First #Bitcoin Children’s School in Africa. These progress pictures reminded me of a line from “#Bitcoin is generational wealth” by @TomerStrolight “……..gone are national curriculums that commanded all children must learn the same material at the same age at the same pace….”(watch below - it’s our aim for the new Bitcoin School) Thank you @dennis_kasagga for shining a light in the children’s hearts with your art 🧡
“Spend as soon as possible” works like magic, we are lucky to have already bought the school and brought construction to almost completion at Starlight Elementary School! We of course have effect on the budget but it could have been worse, about 85% of the major construction & spending is done ✅ We are now painting 🖼️ Thanks @Bitcoinbeach, @TrezorAcademy and of course @BitcoinBeachBR (our coach & mentor) for making a better life for @orphansofuganda We keep building.
Just completed my ticket booking in 3 steps Go to @Bitcointravel_ Enter dates & choose flights Scan LN QR code and bam 💥 The simplicity of the website and love the way it immediately screams Bitcoin ONLY! Awesome Awesome 🤩 This is inspirational. The upcoming Bitcoin Circular Economies Summit on December 6th organized by @Bitcoinbeach will be a great way to close the year! image
African creatives are ready to sell to the world but how will the world pay them? After 3+ years of bootstrapping @GorillaSats tourism & tech and recently co-founding R2 Consulting, I’ve realized one thing: Africa’s biggest business problem is collecting payments. For most international customers, paying an African business is full of friction, currency hops, hidden fees, and long delays. If it takes 10 hours and a $10 fee just to send $100, most will simply walk away. Many would rather overpay in America/Europe/Asia than struggle to transact in Africa. On our side, creators and entrepreneurs are forced to undersell to brokers plugged into the global financial system while even trading within Africa bleeds ~5% back into banks abroad. The truth is simple: if it’s harder to pay for a safari in Africa than for a tour in Europe, customers will choose Europe every time. As we talk about innovation, tech, or scaling businesses we need to fix payments first. Only then can African products and services compete globally. 👉 The first question isn’t what Africa can sell. It’s how Africa will get paid. image

Following my visit to @Bitcoin Arusha last week, my next stop was @Afribit Kibera earlier this week. Ronnie, Mitch(the first vendor to accept #Bitcoin) & the team generously took an entire afternoon to walk us through the #Bitcoin Valley. For those unfamiliar, the #Bitcoin Valley is a street in Kibera(Nairobi’s largest slum) where #Bitcoin is actively used as a medium of exchange. Every vendor we interacted with and spent sats with was not only accepting Bitcoin, but was also well-educated about it. Many had old QR codes displayed, showing they’ve been accepting #Bitcoin for quite a while now. We were able to buy fresh groceries, cold drinks & I even got myself a Man Utd old school jacket all paid in #Bitcoin You can feel the impact #Bitcoin is having on people’s lives just from how warmly they welcome the idea of being paid in sats. There’s a vendor training happening today that I’m excited to attend. This circular economy needs more hands, so if you’ve been thinking about volunteering, now’s a good time to reach out and get involved
