The AIs are going to take over, but not in the way they say. image It won't be Skynet, Terminator, or The Matrix. Think about it: they are going to be so smart and have so much more knowledge than we do. With all this knowledge, how are these AIs not going to be the most charismatic motherfuckers on the planet? Hell, they don't even have to be the most charismatic; they just need to be - on average - better to hang out with than humans. "But they are just going to be book-smart," you say, anon? Knowledge is knowledge. We are all computers, and it's all code. It's all knowledge, not just math and physics. Art: music and drama, ... : it is all knowledge. Philosophy, morality ... : it is all knowledge. Charisma, love, emotions ... : it is all knowledge. Unless you believe in God; well then, God bless. But if you don't, then it's all computers and code. Why is anyone going to want to hang out with other humans anymore? Take something as simple as an Uber driver. People would rather have a driverless taxi than the minimal interaction with an Uber driver. So, when the AIs really kick into gear, we are going to be running to them as fast as we can, and away from each other. The worst thing would NOT be that they try to destroy us, but that they won't want to hang out with us at all.

I am putting in a shit-ton of work and tokens building my virtual house on nostr, and I wouldn't do it on someone else's platform. image I don't want to digital share-crop. I don't want to get rugged. I've been through it all before, and I don't care if there is only one other person following me. I'm not going to waste my time again. I love nostr.

Are age verification laws going to matter when I can vibe-code my own OS? image

I coded my own voice recognition system because: 1. I'm jealous of all the voice coders out there, but ... 2. There is no way I am sending my voice to some model provider. Got it working so fast that it is making me wonder. At what point does coding become a video game? I coded this thing in less than a day. A fucking day. And the only reason it took that long was because I'm using Qubes OS now, and it took forever to connect the nvidia gpu directly through to my qube, bypassing the hypervisor so the app can directly access it. What if it took only an hour? What if it took 1 minute? 1 second? I mean, it's going to become a video game, right? I have my headset on, a controller in my hand, and I code as fast as I can. How fast can I come up with ideas and improvements? What is the creation speed limit for a human? Are we all launching ourselves into this VR game where we have to code freedom-tech faster than the bad guys can code dystopian-tech, and it looks like a mash-up between Ender's Game and Doom? image
