Keir Starmer has just announced that by the end of this parliament no one will be allowed to work in the UK without having a digital ID. Whilst there are some ludicrous enforcement examples within this scenario (what if my neighbour pays me to mow his lawn?) the concentration and almost inevitable abuse of power when digital identity is combined with a programmable central bank digital currency will be highly destructive to society and the economy.
