One thing Elon doesn’t seem to understand is that the only reason people in China use WeChat is because they have to. It’s the worst UX ever. Painfully slow, mini-programs are mediocre ripoffs of existing applications, far too much data consolidated in one place, stupid for payments (NFC>QR) I could go on for ages. I would say that he will fail immensely trying to bring this idea to a free market, but people are idiots and will gladly throw away privacy and rights for “convenience”. Curious how the public reacts to being able to “do everything” from one app. Remind me of this in 2 years.
