Our "Shows" feature now runs a backend service which persists your live stream, regularly checks if it is still live, and updates the Nostr event. So you can load up a 24/7 stream from whatever source and it will "keep alive" in Nostr for as long as it stays online. In case you wanted to fill your clients with lives. Well that was an unexpected bust. Built a two-way Nostr-Owncast bridge For live streaming chats. Any chat messages on Nostr posted to Owncast host's server. And any Owncast chat messages posted to Nostr relays. So both live stream chats get all messages. Auto detected Owncast instances. Auto global application to the whole Owncast directory. Worked perfectly from a technical perspective. The Owncast users in the chat asked for guarantees that their chat messages did not persist anywhere. What guarantees can Nostr give? It does not seem possible to say where their messages persist or how long for. Users were angry leaving the chat. So I turned it off. Any ideas on how to proceed? #asknostr
