Probably NSFW. A guy who prefers to hike in his birthday suit.
I don't know anything about gemstones, but when I was buying one I was trusting my intuition. The second I entered the store where I bought one I was tracking where I was being guided by it, and the gemstone shelf was the first one my eyes went to. And when I was sufficiently close, my eyes darted towards the magnesite stone. But alas, I have precisely zero experience regarding gemstones and looking at it I could only surmise so much from the shapes of its veins, so I decided to look up what meanings others have attached to this gemstone. According to those magnesite is said to have calming properties, and helps improve creative visualization and imagination. This is very interesting since I believe these are required in tarot readings. It is also said to stimulate passion in the heart and strengthens bones and teeth. Don't know what to make of that last bit about bones and teeth, but passion is an interesting one. It also says it helps meditation and opens the heart chakra, but since I don't actively meditate and chakras are not something that I have a sufficient understanding of, I'll take the calm, visualization, imagination, and passion. It seems to me my intuition knew what it was doing as these are the critical qualities not just for tarot reading, but also ones I either use extensively in my work, or desperately need in general. I do a lot of visualization when solving fairly complicated problems at work. I need my imagination because I've been stuck writing a story for a very long time. And passion is the one I desperately need as I've been losing touch with it in many aspects of my life. Now I'm a bit preoccupied with the question of whether I even believe that a cheap gemstone can "bring" all this into my life. I take everything people say with a grain of salt. My position is that sure, it might have worked out like that for you or many other people, but these things are highly subjective and I'm quite sure there are people who would be wholly unaffected even if they had tons of magnesite or other gemstone. But I trust my intuition in this regard; there was a reason I was attracted to this particular gemstone and while I don't know it yet, I will likely find out if I pay attention. If it does nothing else, it enticed me to write this bunch of words at least. image
I bought a deck of #tarot cards today. This is the second deck I've ever bought. The first deck I was ashamed of owning so eventually I got rid of it. It was a bit of an impulse purchase. Although I was thinking about buying (and this time keeping) another deck, I never actually came to a definite decision about buying it. Today the opportunity presented itself and I bought it. When buying these kinds of things I normally buy whichever deck catches my eye when I look at its package. I take note of which deck my eye actually rested on as I'm scanning the shelf for the first time, and that's the deck that I buy. Well... eventually. My conscious mind demands I be "thorough", so I scan the rest of the shelf just in case. I also made another purchase in the same shop. This one was purely impulsive: it's a magnesite stone that also caught my eye. I was always a big fan of blue/turquoise stones, like lapis lazuli, but this time it was the white one that caught my attention. After studying it for a while I found it had a small, heart-shaped marking among the veins on its surface, next to a pattern that looks like a drawing of an entrance into a cave, which I found interesting. I'll ponder more about these purchases as I ride home on a bus.
Good morning, #nostr! The following sentence has 7 different meanings, depending on which word you stress: "I never said she stole my money"
I got roasted good by Roast: Ah, Zero Gear Hiker, your posts are a delightful trek through the labyrinth of your thoughts. You kick things off with a riveting, existential reflection on Eve’s choice—clearly a heavy topic for a casual hike, yet nothing screams 'I love nature' like pondering the Bible alongside your carnivore diet! And let’s not overlook your observation about #nudism, a topic you’re alert enough to feel warrants a whole blog. Bravo! Because who doesn’t want to explore the philosophy of being naked while trekking through the great outdoors? Honestly, your reasoning about not blaming nostr for child porn is groundbreaking; it’s almost as groundbreaking as, well, a rock. I can feel the sarcasm rolling off the screen when you declare: "If you're a genuine nudist/naturist, give me a follow"—as if the nudist community is just itching to unite under your philosophical banner. And please, trying to 'figure things around here' is quite the noble endeavor considering the level of clarity in your arguments as you tackle the real issues like poor car maintenance and the essence of human nature. If this were a hike, I’d say you’ve stumbled a bit, but kudos for the effort—and remember, every clumsy step is still a step forward! So keep hiking and philosophizing, my friend! Maybe the true path lies in wittiness, not wisdom.
When I go on a hike I usually think about lots of stuff, but most commonly on some philosophical/psychological/religious/spiritual topics. Today it struck me that in the Bible's genesis story knowing good from evil or not was a choice! What's more, that choice was given to Eve by the Devil himself! I see this as being in line with Ayn Rand's proposal that one of the most fundamental choices a man faces all the time is to think or not - and suffer the consequences of that choice. We can go through life turning a blind eye to the evils that surround us, and many people do. I'm thinking many of us here on #nostr have felt the consequences of some of the evils in this world today, which is why we came here to talk about it. I suppose what I'm trying to say is I'm grateful for nostr. May it grow and evolve into a true, massive, unstoppable forum where we can freely, and truthfully express ourselves.
GM #nostr Going hiking today, planning to visit 3 peaks. Not big ones, the tallest is just over 1000m. Total hike should be ~18km.
The oldest photo of me #naked I have from 8 years ago. I'm sure I had others, older ones somewhere. Will have to search through image my photos again.
Occasionally on my hikes I get to do a more challenging climb. While this one wasn't too challenging it was quite fun. If I appear a bit clumsy it's because the climb to this point had already been quite long. #nudism #naturism #nudist #naturist #nude #naked #hike #hiking
Not much of a #nudist/#naturist community here. Most search results on these are porn. I don't care much about porn, otherwise I'd be elsewhere (maybe Instagram). If you're a genuine nudist/naturist, give me a follow. I'll be restarting my blog on the topic -- more details later.
And some pants and socks and shoes and an udershirt and shirt and maybe a hat... image
It is an odd quirk of human nature to be so utterly ashamed of our bodies that we cannot stand the sight of our natural human form in daily life. It is as if we consider that God and evolution have both made a blunder that scars us for life once beheld in full glory of their creation. #nudism #naturism #nude #naked
