FATF are a bunch of criminals. Remember: - They are not even so open about exactly what kind of entity they are - AML rules are horribly ineffective, extremely costly, and unjust - FATF gang up together with regulators and govts around the world to pressure other govts, banks and FI's to do more AML all in the name of "stopping money laundering" when it's been proven extremely ineffective.

For Bitcoin, the 'centre of the conversation' shifted over time. It started in places like the Cryptography mailing list, IRC, then went to BitcoinTalk forums, then r/bitcoin, then Bitcoin Twitter around 2016/17. How long until it becomes Nostr as THE place for bitcoin discussion?

One thing that keeps the network effect over on twitter (or 'X' as it might be called soon), is that the interactions are over there. So it's not just about cross posting things across platforms, it's also about who's interacting and in what ways are they interacting. Of course i'm longer term bullish on nostr vs Twitter/X, but it'll take time.

Something I've realised about carnivore diet is that some of the benefits come from actually being more strict about it e.g. cutting out zero-sugar/calorie flavoured soft drinks, coffee and other bits and pieces that end up in the diet. It's more difficult but I'm giving it a go nowadays rather than 'looser' attempts in the past. Still struggle with sticking to it while travelling or in social situations though.

It's commonplace now for online services to ask your email address to send you messages. It will eventually be commonplace for them to ask your LN address or bolt12 code to do payouts or refunds over bitcoin's lightning network.

Really, lightning solves the problem of instant settlement. It won't necessarily be cheap. Lightning is useful, I use it heaps and I remain bullish on it.

If there's one segment we can grow, it should be the HODLer base. All the other things will come downstream of that.

I might think Ordinals and Inscriptions are mostly garbage, but I also acknowledge that trying to stop them is probably worse than simply letting them get outcompeted by financial transactions on Bitcoin. Bullish on engineers finding clever ways to batch financial transactions!
