Weekly #writing #wip update: 2023 words added to the manuscript, all last night. (But I was thinking about it all week). It’s finally starting to feel real that I might have two complete draft manuscripts done by the end of the year! I just have to make sure I edit them and not add them to the trunk, like all earlier attempts. I don’t know anything about this grape but it came recommended for tonight’s mulled wine recipe and was cheap. Mulled wine critique group is best critique group! Wishing you booze fueled critique groups or whatever help you need for your projects this week.

And Mr Ridiculous here finally has an offer to attend grade 2 at dog school.

Yay! Today I was offered my first tiny baby research grant to work on someone’s data for a paper. One of many steps to pivot from clinical practice to demography, but in the right direction. (And it’s an interesting project!)

I’m not sure if it’s telling me the right answers, but studying math homework with the Bing AI sure is fun. Tonight my partner said ‘it does images you know’. I didn’t!

Weekly #writing #wip update - 2062 net words added to the current manuscript, but I also deleted a bunch of stuff, which felt good. Minor improvement: Trying not to type ‘thing’ in the draft. No something, anything, everything and all the things. I should add a teeny improvement like this every week. Also, reading a chapter out of one of the Donald Mass books before I start a session and trying to apply whatever he says to the current scene. Having that week off over Easter made it hard to get back to it! One of our writing group members posted me out one off those fancy thermo glass mugs. So excited for mulled-wine fueled critique sessions for the next little while! (Sorry, diet). Love my city in the winter time, it’s too hot the rest of the year. Finally bought Wolf Hall, anticipating it’s as amazing as everyone says it is. Hope this week brings you good coffee and inspiration

Weekly #writing #wip update - squeezed all my word count goal into today because probability assignment and a day-trip to see family ate into the rest of my spare time. Need to learn about native crows. Thought a lot about disability and grief. Oh, and someone in my critique group needed a swap, so I rushed of some very rough edits to get something in. Poor group, getting double submissions from me this month when I’m at my most lost. Hope you found time for your projects this week.
