I need to find a new energy drink that’s more #keto friendly. I though the new V varieties were ok because the sweetener was listed as erythritol, but I needed to keep reading! Look at that sneaky sucralose! Or maybe I just need to go back to only drinking water, gin, and coffee - instead of chemical slurries.

#keto lunch ‘pizza’, the wraps are 1.2g carbs each! The pizza ‘sauce’ is 2:1 kewpie mayo and the least carby tomato paste I can find. Cheese, spring onions, fresh chives, black olives and pepperoni! Yum

#wip #writing weekly update. Just did a tiny 500 words on the current manuscript, which I’d allowed for by over-writing 2 weeks ago. Had fun trying a new POV. Randomly made a few breakthroughs plotting the next book even tho wasn’t meant to be working on it, fixing both the fact my major plot driver was a lady in a fridge, and how the main character copes with mould in his flood prone house. It’s getting very Reanimator inspired, I ain’t mad about that. The dead lady gets to be the POV for the second half of the book. Gonna call the next book ‘Damp’ which is not coming up as already used on Goodreads/Amazon but seems unlikely, probably just a hard one to do SEO for? Critique group tonight and it’s my fortnight for feedback, which I’m not feeling great about because I submitted a bit of mess. But they’ll help me fix it! One of the other writers came up with a brilliant framing device for her WIP, so looking forward to telling her how much I love it. Best thing about having a writing group is a feeling I’m working on five books, not just one. 💜 My masters subject started a week earlier than I expected, as it’s hosted by a different university and I didn’t know they started sooner, so scrambling to catch up. Gotta go back and do a basic #probability subject because of my haphazard approach to post-grad, so at least not too much of a mental load. #pomeranian meetup in a few hours. 30 fluffy dogs with attitude in a tiny paddock. I’ll try get pics!

My genetics are pure peasant, but I strongly feel like I was meant to be born a lady of leisure. I’m banning future me from accepting extra shifts for the rest of the year, I don’t care how much she likes money.

Well that COVID reprieve did not last long. My hospital is back with it’s biggest outbreak ever. Back in the duckbill. Hopefully just a weird fluke linked to one patient transport centre

I made this shortcut on #iOS for trying to automate #image resizing and upload for Damus. It’s not bad but if anyone can optimise it or work out how to automate the last few steps let me know.

#wip update, 2135 words done. Thought last week I was working 6/7 but turns out it’s this week 😭 Total 40k now! Tried to be more deliberate with my scene anatomy, which I think is paying off. (Like I have a blog post open called ‘how to write a good scene’ and I follow it step by step like a total baby.) New sit-stand desk arrived but not yet put together. Tried to order a Sayl chair but still waiting for the quote because it’s very important I have one in green. My whole body is one mild ache, not sure if I should blame #keto or trying to write on the coffee table or long COVID or getting older. Anyway, it takes 90 minutes to walk to work, which is when I do most of my thinking/plot problem solving, so I guess lots of that this week. The #pomeranian is broken and has been SO LOUD all week, but I’m trying not to hate on the poor guy, it’s hot here and we can only go on short walks. #writing

I couldn’t tune the classical music station on the radio this morning before I left, so the poor pups have been left with country and western for the whole day😭

These bad boys need a whole bag of cheese waved in front of their face as a bribe to take their anti-parasite tablets, little pricks. Considering changing over to a spot on, but the only one that is as good for paralysis tick is $$$

Ordered a new sit-stand desk. #Pomeranians are useless when it comes to furniture construction, I gotta say.

Next re-#read with my faithful hound Really interesting re-reading ‘A Murder of Quality’. It took le Carré a while to find his voice. Good to remember all of us come up from somewhere, we don’t arrive masters of the craft. #books #writing #dogsofnostr 💜
