Real history of BRICS
2015 – Ufa Summit (Russia)
BRICS Announcement: BRICS Bank (New Development Bank) becomes operational.
Narrative: The talk was all about "de-dollarization" and building a multipolar world.
Bitcoin Price: ~$250
Missed Opportunity: Instead of stacking BTC at historic lows, they formed yet another multilateral bureaucracy. Bureaucracies don’t moon.
2017 – Xiamen Summit (China)
Focus: Stronger economic cooperation; mention of blockchain as a curiosity.
Bitcoin Price: ~$4,000 (rising toward ATH)
Missed Opportunity: They acknowledged blockchain... like a dad nodding at his kid’s rock band. No action.
2019 – Brasília Summit (Brazil)
Theme: Economic growth, innovation, digital economy.
Bitcoin Price: ~$8,000
Missed Opportunity: Could’ve led with a BRICS stablecoin backed by BTC instead of chasing IMF approval. But they stuck with fiat-based nothingness.
2020 – Virtual Summit (Russia)
COVID Era: Virtual event, big talk about resilience and digital transformation.
Bitcoin Price: ~$15,000
Missed Opportunity: In a moment of global monetary madness, BRICS could've declared a Bitcoin hedge. Instead, silence.
2022 – Beijing Summit (China, Virtual)
Talks: “BRICS+” expansion; again flirted with ditching the dollar.
Bitcoin Price: ~$20,000
Missed Opportunity: Invited Iran and Argentina—perfect time for a rebellion currency move. But nope—still talking about a BRICS currency while holding bags of gold and treasuries.
2023 – Johannesburg Summit (South Africa)
Major Move: Invited 6 new countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Iran, Argentina, Ethiopia).
Bitcoin Price: ~$26,000
Missed Opportunity: This was the moment for a serious Bitcoin-backed settlement layer for oil. Instead, they mumbled about a "BRICS currency" again. Spoiler: It still doesn’t exist.
I know a lot of people are feeling unsure of the financial future. I mostly see bitcoiners and no coiners. If you really want some anxious thoughts, imagine being young in a country using neither bitcoin or USD. The fiat you use today is racing to zero, all the financial engineering happening right now... The only settled part is almost all national fiat is going to zero fast
It was the 73rd email regarding my ledger account needing to be upgraded that got me...... Spam as brand damage must be awful
Bitcoin podcast cope on Trump is the most undermining trend outside bitcoin fundamentals they both spoke obvious truth about each other and you know it. Ticktock next block.
Just before the tariffs hit looking for some LoRa firmware now but this would be a awesome OOB signing device it terms of form factor. How bad are e-ink displays for security though? @N

Selfie dox #Ghibli #build

The people that sold on the SPR announcement.... Fucking legendary fumble....thank you
Nostr swag and LoRa net in Maui. This place would be a great citadel

People go full nostr at the time they deserve as well. If you still bot dance over in bluecheckistan I don't have time to explain it to you.
Have not been to see a movie in the theater in years... Holy shit the 39 min of TV ads... The ads incentive ruin everything. Charge me another dollar and start the show on time .

🚨 CyberDanube Security Alert 🚨
CVE-2024-9154: Authenticated Remote Code Execution in Ewon Flexy 205 (<=v14.8s0)
Why settle for IoT when you can have "Internet of Exploitable Things"? A charming flaw lets you upload Java apps via FTP, execute them with API calls, and voilà—root access! HMS Networks dismissed it as "not relevant" because, hey, you could downgrade firmware anyway. Security? Optional.
Impact: High.
Fix: Oh, sweet summer child, there is none.
Workaround: Hide your network, hide your kids.
Full details: CyberDanube Research
HMS Networks tagline: "Liberating data—and apparently attackers too." 🐍
A huge downside of the bitcoin accession is watching it lift some genuine trash with it. These political hot takes eeeesh. The good news? The signal outlasts the noise. With time, the genuine innovation and use cases tend to shine, leaving the opportunistic or unhelpful elements behind. Just keep building and focusing on the real value; the rest will sort itself out.
105 wants to so bad.
No coiner friends act like the stakes are higher for bitcoin at these prices. So much further to fall anxiety. I have not thought about price in years. Higher price removed anxiety. 4th bull/bear cycle and price is the least interesting attribute.... Endless drama, hero's, villains in between. As @ODELL says. Keep humble stack SATs. What a wonderful community and time to be here for it.
