I think I finally solved the mystery: Why has the Nostr zap economy failed? Because $0.34 (⚡500) is considered a "fat zap" (At least by me - thanks for the fat zap @matts !) Denominations can distort the perception of value and I suspect Satoshis may have altered ours. A strip club where most patrons threw dimes and quarters, and the baller finance-bros dropped an occasional Lincoln would probably fail too.
