Just a humble user of #Bitcoin and #TheNostr, exploring and learning! #Austrich
Nostr looks like the fastest horse. Launch any business, no need to build any website, member systems, payment rails, social features ... It's all built in. To build a business just focus on your business.
I'm imagining a user space. I select my account, I select my relay(s), and then I use any client to interact in any way. My account may be a personal or organisation account, and my user space may have both available to select. My relay may be public, or org relay, or a private backup relay. My user space has all available and I may select one or many. My org may issue my account and run my relay, with auth so that only a whitelist account can read and write. And yet my account is portable and if I want to take the account to another relay, for example a vendor or client, I just need them to authorize me. if I want to post publicly to Global I can do that too. As a user I can BYO client. The client is constrained by the user space, interacting only with the accounts and relays defined. An org admin can define that space, so that a user can BYOC with no risk. Clients may be social media, threaded messengers, collaboration work spaces, event calendars, knowledge repositories, etc We open source the user space software to enable client compatibility, and sell the administration as a service. We peel customers from Slack, Google Workspace, Atlassian, more. Fundamental building blocks are user auth like nsec.app, and relay auth like nostr.wine. Add a GUI admin for CRUD of accounts, rights and privileges. ...
Honestly I think nsec.app is a game changer. Still wrapping my head around the possibility here.
The more I think about nostr the more I come back to the Bitcoin native implementation as key to amazing new apps, for Bitcoin and for the web. Bitcoin uxto based model is so different from eth account based model. But nostr is an account based model too. Pay to npub type methods, as in npub.cash open up all kinds of powers. Layer this with RGB or Taproot assets and you can do all kinds of things. I'm thinking about DAOs on Bitcoin, Airdrops, more, all BTC and Nostr native. Fascinating.
Is there (could there be) a standardised way to derive a nostr keypair from a bitcoin address? Thereby every public Bitcoin address becomes an inbox? #asknostr #nostr
Paying high fees on the Bitcoin network, $100 Remembering that I'm a miner, priceless.
I hosted my own relay for personal use, but then other nostr uses started posting to it. It became so popular that I exceeded the quotas on my VPS and had to shut it down. Does anyone have a solution to that? Is there a configuration where I can whitelist only my pubkey?
2021 was the peak for statism in the west. Too many people have now seen behind the curtain. As their fiat fails them so their power will wane. They could try to WW3 their way out, but I think infighting, insular nationalism, and "looting the Treasury" will keep every state too internally focused to carry out any big conflict. Yes regional conflicts will escalate (Ukraine, Palestine, Taiwan) as the US world police take a back seat, but the real question is what next? Will Bitcoiner libertarian anarcho capitalism prevail, to separate money and state? Or will the WEF one world government overpower state sovereignty with fearmongering plays like the WHO? If anything troubles me, it's this: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." As both Bitcoiners and the WEF fight the state, together but from opposite ideologies, we share an enemy. Does that make us friends? Does one of us corrupt or capture the other? Why is Blackrock so interested in Bitcoin? What happens once they propose their first UASF?

6+ BTC in fees per block changes the equation. I had been planning for 3.125 subsidy after the halving, now looking at 9 or 10 or more in combined subsidy and fees, a casual 3X more revenue than I was expecting. Wondering whether to buy some more hashrate.
