“Is self-custody dead?”
No.
It’s about to become 10x stronger.
Self-custody was created for anyone.
But it was never going to be practiced by everyone.
Anyone can take responsibility for their own money.
Most will choose convenience instead.
Because sovereignty demands something convenience doesn’t:
Knowledge.
Discipline.
Responsibility.
The tools are available to everyone.
Most won’t master them.
The few who do will build the next generation of self-custody.
Stronger. Smarter. Harder to break.
That’s not the death of self-custody.
That’s its evolution.

Take control of your future:
• Secure your Bitcoin with self-custody
• Protect your freedom with strong cybersecurity
• Build options with a Plan B residency
Your path to self-sovereignty begins here 👇
🕊️ Every attack on #Bitcoin makes it stronger, and our conviction in why it matters even more important.
For the first time in history, those who seek control face something they cannot stop.
Bitcoin in self-custody.
Freedom must be taken.
‼️ Mark my words:
There will come a day when MANY regret believing that handing control of their Bitcoin to a KYC institution was the price of “safety.”
Be wary of those trying to keep you in the cage.
The final destination is 100% #Bitcoin in self-custody.
Who's transacting tomorrow? 👀
Him: "We need the CLARITY act bro!"
Me: #BITCOIN: P2P ELECTRONIC CASH!
What's not clear to you?
🚨 Bitcoiners should be alert not only to phishing scams trying to steal their #Bitcoin, but also to businesses using fear to undermine self-custody and sell permissioned alternatives.
Be wary of any service where multiple companies hold keys, collect sensitive identity data, can refuse to sign, and/or charge a recurring percentage of your Bitcoin.
More counterparties, more KYC exposure and more permission do not automatically mean more security.
The answer to self-custody risk is better education, better tools, independent verification and less blind trust.
Don't let fear turn sovereignty back into dependency.
‼️ First and foremost, my heart and thoughts are with everyone who lost funds. They deserve answers and accountability from Coinkite.
If the Coldcard exploit was meant to be an attack on self-custody, it failed.
It galvanized some of the smartest people in #Bitcoin. The result will be stronger tools, better defenses, and far greater resilience.
‼️ If someone felt threatened by Bitcoin dominance and self-custody, what would they attack?
Not Bitcoin’s code.
Your confidence in your ability to hold it.
They would amplify every failure.
Turn every hardware-wallet bug into an indictment of self-custody.
Make sovereignty feel reckless and dependence feel responsible.
The recent Coldcard situation is serious. Some people have lost funds because vulnerable wallets were created. That demands accountability, investigation, and better security, NOT a retreat into custodianship.
A defective tool does not invalidate the principle.
#Bitcoin has not failed.
Proper self-custody has not failed.
Blind trust in any single device or vendor has.
Verify your entropy. Test your recovery. Reduce single points of failure.
Fear will drive many back into the cage.
Let it drive you toward better self-custody instead.
The alternative is still dependence.
Choose carefully.
‼️ REMINDER ‼️
Never forget who has the most to lose when #Bitcoin wins.
Expect the attacks.
Learn more. Build better. Secure harder.
Proper self-custody is the standard.
Sovereignty is priceless.
🚨 COLDCARD VULNERABILITY UPDATE 🚨
A quick update based on the info we have so far.
Watch this video to understand:
- What happened
- How you should respond
- What happens next
Remember to stay calm and avoid rash decisions

A HARDWARE WALLET IMPLEMENTATION FAILED. SELF-CUSTODY DID NOT.
Block’s investigation has identified a serious random-number-generation flaw affecting older COLDCARD devices and has raised unresolved questions about the RNG design used in newer models, including the Mk4, Mk5 and Q.
The confirmed vulnerable path currently concerns older Mk2 and Mk3 firmware. Practical exploitation of the newer models has not been established, so we are monitoring the technical evidence closely and will update our guidance as the facts develop.
This incident reinforces an important principle: proper self-custody must never depend on a single device alone.
The Bitcoin Way’s methodology uses strong, independently generated passphrases, disciplined verification and layered security to reduce the impact of hidden implementation failures.
Anyone using a seed generated by affected firmware should treat it as compromised and migrate to a newly generated wallet immediately.
Anyone concerned about their setup or unsure whether they are practicing self-custody safely can contact @The Bitcoin Way for guidance, whether or not they are a client.
Never trust. Verify.
Proper self-custody remains the standard.
‼️ In light of the recent ColdCard MK3 situation.
BE ALERT FOR SCAMS!
You may see messages asking you to “verify your wallet,” “migrate funds,” or enter your seed words into a website or tool.
NEVER DO THIS. No legitimate company will ask for your seed phrase.
If you are unsure about anything, check with our team before taking action. @The Bitcoin Way
🟠 Some measure wealth in worthless paper.
Others measure it in freedom.
Fiat keeps you caged.
#Bitcoin in self-custody sets you free.
Which one are you?
One thing I’ve noticed about people who still reject #Bitcoin: it’s not always about the price. Often, it’s about the personal cost of admitting they were wrong.
“Bitcoin has failed as money” is one of the clearest signs you are dealing with a moron, liar, grifter, or charlatan.
“Do you take cash or cards?”
“No.”
“Dollars? Euros?”
“No.”
“So what do you take?”
“#Bitcoin. We only accept real money.”
‼️ No regulation or CLARITY Act can stop an idea whose time has come. At most, they keep the foolish from recognizing their ticket to freedom.
‼️ Beware of those shilling #Bitcoin as anything but money.
‼️If you believe in it as money, get as close as possible to 1 BTC in self custody... quickly.
PSST! Yes, you.
No consortium can change #Bitcoin's rules.
Not for $15 million, not for $15 billion.
Hold your keys. Run your node. Sleep well.
Satoshi built for this. Bitcoin is money: earn it, save in it, spend it.
Walk away from fiat and the noise disappears.
