Here's what I need to make: a nostr daemon. A small relay like thing that runs on local machine and caches posts. Then a browser extension that will let webpages query the posts from the extension. Then I make a website that doesn't connect to any relays directly, it only talks to the daemon via the extension. That way I won't lose my stuff on every new page. All webpages will be able to query that daemon.

I send a note to someone using NIP-whatever-makes-it-pick-relays-from-the-nevent, and then I refresh page and now I don't see the note I sent, because I don't subscribe to that relay -- nightmare UX right there.

Very very difficult to find content I care about, actually.

Is there really a need for a twitter clone

Mempool being full all the time is the indirect result of a soft fork... Think about that. Bitcoin isn't some "pure" thing, where nothing goes sideways, by any means. #bitcoin

global feed is full of "GM/GN" and other delusions about bitcoin/nostr taking over the world. Why are people like this?

gpt-4 API is available for all (has been for weeks now). Using the API is substantially cheaper than the web ui, though I dunno if the web ui has some bonus features still. Casual use via API costs me about $1/mo

I tell anyone online that nostr is DOA

When I have a difficult question, even if I know that GPT is gonna hallucinate at me I still ask GPT and treat is as "good enough" truth. Searching the web will just get me GPT generated blog posts anyway, and those are even worse. Searching for credible sources is too time consuming.

I'm puzzled. Someone online said that getting high on fentanyl in SF costs as little as $1. If that's true, then is the avg. fentanyl addict spending less money on drugs these days? Shouldn't that improve their quality of life? Cheaper drugs = improved situation?

Doesn't look like anybody gives a fuck about updating walletconnect.. uniswap+1inch still rocking the old thing. Going to ignore it myself too, fuck em.

Once there's an AI tool to generate quality content from existing books (e.g. sequels), I just fucking retire. Fuck this. In my mind, Claude 100k should be able to produce quality content, but idk if it can and there isn't an API (even a paid one) that I have access to.

Rather than NIP-07, I think each client should get its own derived key and that key would be sent & stored server side. Then you could just have regular login flows. Trust would be needed but as the xpriv holder you should be able to invalidate keys. In short, the current signing system sucks, it's not nearly user friendly enough.

Torrent tracker RARBG was closed. I don't know if there's a shortage of torrent trackers, but running a tracker on nostr might be an opening. I think it may be illegal in a lot of places, though. At least I assume so, because there's no big time fediverse torrent tracker.

The newest move(?) by Twitter crypto scammers, of making a fake trader twitter account and then adding bots to praise that account, is a smart move, because it makes it difficult to ban the fake trader account, since it could be real, and so they don't lose the botting investment.

Making web apps for nostr is borderline waste of time, mobile users get locked out because of private key shenanigans: the ux is terrible
