I really believe in forgiveness but I don't believe in trying to force forgiveness out of myself or others because it takes time to heal from whatever it was that went wrong. the best thing that can happen is that you both learn from the experience and find a way to understand each other's flaws and motivations, without continuously being driven by some impulse to retaliate, as that never ends well. most of the time, it's worth just having a good conversation and hugging it out.

chat when somebody cares a lot about you I think what matters the most to them is your happiness and perhaps there may be some heartbreak involved with that but it's not like you can't be in each other's lives or be friends or work on fun stuff together.

the Icelandic fairy godmother of melodramatic music, Bjork, once said that you can't get mad at the machines if they sound like they have no soul – you must put the soul in the machine – and I'm sorry, but I really did try to put some soul into the machine and now I'm going back to my plow: good old fashioned drumsticks and something to bang on.

not to be confused with the concept of Ghost Notes, MICRO BEATS is about extravagant beat making and you will love if because it either cures headaches or gives headaches. it's a CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE experience and I'm NOT GONNA APOLOGIZE if you end up with a headache.

I am inventing a new musical genre called MICRO BEATS and it means that everywhere you think there is not supposed to be a beat I PUT ONE THERE

my other idea is that, if the entire internet can be downloaded onto a thumb drive, and you don't actually need all of it, let's be frank, then really, the other function people find useful about the internet is communication and content sharing, which I think outboxing seems to accomplish for those who want limited internet connection time. for the other parts – GPS mapping, geolocation, referencing, fact finding, and whatnot – I'm not even sure that smart phones are necessary, and are mostly about convenience in exchange for mass amounts of data being made available to a few entities which NEED us to use their smart phones and apps in order to build social profiles and do other retarded shit with our data. like, I would much rather have separate device for making phone calls, like a true satellite phone, and one for all other Internet-related purposes. probably not explaining this well, but what my entire presence on the internet was only available on one protocol, and I had one singular interface – my own completely self-hosted node, for example – wherein all data, information, and content is self-disseminated through automated channels via social media or websites or whatever.

I honestly just don't understand the point of encryption in an era of mass surveillance. like, it does seem to me that the idea of TIA and encryption cancel each other out and all that's left is data harvesting by a few very large companies and the government, who are purportedly "protecting" our data when they are actually exploiting it. while this may be obvious to most of us on Nostr, I don't think there's been much of a public campaign to make people understand that it's very possible to own one's data and choose who has access to it. for example, not EVERYTHING has to be ran thru cloud servers in order to qualify as being on the "internet" and, in fact, I believe that our understanding of the internet should include proximal and direct forms of data sharing akin to bluetooth. the only thing I can think of is having personal satellites but that sounds ridiculous and I'm sure there's got to be a better way. I'm just not deeply informed on this stuff and any ideas you may have would be greatly enlightening! not trying to overthink it, just wondering: what is the closest thing to a totally off-the-grid personal internet and what would that look like?

gm chat can we discuss the notion of AI breaking encryption, and if this is actually gonna happen, and whether this will be a good or bad thing?

sometimes people do need to be plucked from obscurity and shoved onto a stage to just do that damn thing, whatever it's supposed to be. can't say anyone is ever ready for that moment, but if you have enough self-discipline to do your homework and be somewhat prepared, maybe you'll find the process kind of enjoyable and perhaps even fascinating after a while – exhausting but in a good way.

that said, without some viable means of mass communication, none of it would have been possible, so thank you to all those who build things which support free and open forms of public communication 🫶🏼
