is there a way to give some Bitcoin without creating a utxo on chain? cashu???

Block fees have been intense, sort of feels like fomo from the masses tbh.
Lightning doesn't work very well when it comes to new users buying some Bitcoin. I suppose it's unfair to expect L2 solutions to be able to circumnavigate the need for a user to have a utxo on the chain to be anchored to but it brings up some basic truths about how accumulating Bitcoin just fundamentally requires on chain activity unless you happen to have some inbound capacity from previous spends.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bitcoin is as close to technological prophecy or fate as we'll ever get to experience. It's extremely significant. I don't think it will ever reach "mass adoption" but it will certainly be adopted by those with money. Bitcoin has marginally helped some poor people become rich but in the end it won't exist to save the poor, it will be adopted by the rich and powerful and used as defining difference between the rich and poor. Rich people own bitcoins, poor people don't.

Spent a good 6 hours today debugging development tools and fixing lots of my own configuration mistakes to get an old local development environment up and running.
