I interviewed my dad tonight. His childhood, what he knows of his dad and grandfather. My grandfather ran away from his family farm in Minnesota to attend University of Minnesota, and then started a business (before losing it all…)
Highly recommend. Working on developing a working legacy story for my sons.
There is something to knowin to your origin.

I’m more of a March/April/May gardener than a June/July/August gardener.
I need to find a gardening partnership. I’ll plant and enjoy the garden in the cool spring months and then someone can come and do the hard work.
I played soccer last night for the first time in 8 years. Some thoughts:
- being the “old man” on the field is wild…how did we get here?
- beating another man at something is primal and I realize I miss it a lot
- I scored a hat trick and our team won and this last point was the main reason for the message

I got a call last night from a rich friend of mine, he’s a managing director of a real estate investment firm and in his late fifties.
I’ve been telling him about Bitcoin for years and after one of his rich buddies said he “bought one on Coinbase just in case”, he was calling to validate his own investment strategy.
Supply shock is coming.

Easy to fall for in your 20’s, less susceptible in your 30’s, downright resistant to the cult of opinion in your 40’s.

Just walked into a US Post Office for the first time in a while. They feel post apocalyptic, not because they’re run down or damaged but rather because the design aesthetic of the 80’s remains undamaged.
They are in effect a time capsule, pointing at the stagnation on progress associated with government.
Fountain App is not great. Can we admit that?
I’ve really tried but restarting an episode 4 times each time is not ideal.

Everyone wants DEI until the dwarves show up…

There is no faster data processor than a human brain at a conference looking at another persons name tag to understand if that person can serve their commercial interests.
A mentor once told me about raising kids:
They will pursue whatever you go bright eyed over.
Hopefully this isn’t a cell phone or a sports team.
Oliver Anthony’s new song is a banger.

The Ballad of Wallis Island is the best new movie I have seen in a very long time.
This is the single most hideous temple/buidling/orwellian graphic I’ve ever seen.

I do enjoy Chicago.

At a construction technology conference. “Costs have doubled since 2020”…
Maybe all conferences become Bitcoin conferences…
