How many of you #monero #xmr people run their own node? over tor? secure the network? utilize it for payments? use other cryptography utilities like pgp/gpg? learn as much as you can about good #privacy practices? not get bogged into divisive politics and is more embracing of difference? also not be obsessed with line go up tunnel vision?

I think I will only reply with a πreaction for halloween.
It'll be up to everyone else to decipher my reaction.
React with the appropriate emoticon to show support.
I would really like for time to slow down.. Or stop.
I love this time of the year π - I try to watch some classic or new spooky films, or just some interesting films or series.
Anyone going to watch anything Recommendations?
Thinking of Night of the living dead or The Shining

how about no? can't they get their AI to accurately figure this out based on my habits/likes/my conversations?
or do they just want to collect more data about their userbase, the userbase that makes the platform useful in the first place.
I'm guessing it's the second reason.One great thing about #nostr is that I can post long notes while on X this ability is pay-walled.
That's X's loss.
We all have a little cypherpunk in us;
even those that are not really into tech. have a little cypher in them;
capabilities certainly enable but it is not the driver of a cypher life;
it's not unfounded that people gravitate and prefer #privacy:
blinds, doorlocks, whispers, close friendships that you share personal stories and thoughts;
these are glimpses of what cypher looks like in its non-digital form.
humans have an inherent need for multi-layered existence.
if people understood how deeply entrenched data sharing and how this influences and changes their behavior, then there would be a massive disconnect by people outraged at the swindle.
People will value other things in life, prompted by recognizing they've been manipulated by algorithms.
People may be obtuse about their technologies, but they are certainly anti-surveillance
