It is best to have bitcoin knots running as a service not running as the standalone app. In Linux, it is called ‘bitcoind’ and it runs via the systemctl software. This way it is always on and you can connect your bitcoin wallets to it. 2. It is best to have ‘electrs’ service sit in front of the ‘bitcoind’ service. This allows more privacy. 3. Hardware wise: it is best not to run it on a raspberry pi. I would get a small computer with at least 32GB of ram and for the Bitcoin Blockchain it needs to be at least 4tb of NVME space. For NON-DIY 1. The Sovran Pro already has all this built right in and no need to install anything. 2. There are other implementations similar to the Sovran Pro – Start9 and Umbrell and Mynodel. I think the Sovran Pro is the easiest for folks that are not technical because everything is set up out of the box.
