Husband starting new job today.
I'm excited because I also get to share his job benefit of a discount at one of the major Finnish supermarkets.
Onwards and upwards ๐

๐ฌ๐ง๐ฉ๐ช๐ซ๐ฎ Finding my peace and romanticising life ๐ธ
Husband and I were supposed to have a date today, but a package arrived with our new kitchen extractor fan and our "date" turned into a 3-hour intelligence test/team building exercise.
"Easy installation" my ass ๐

This morning, I biked down to the lake. It was just a regular grey day, the coldest morning of the autumn yet. ๐โ๏ธ
As I was cycling down the waterfront, I was stopped in my tracks by the sight of a large waterbird with pure white feathers taking flight and flying gracefully away across the water.
At first, I thought it was a heron, but herons are usually grey, so I looked it up and recognised it as a great egret. This was surprising and very lucky because they are quite rare here in Finland.
Egrets symbolise wisdom, grace and divine guidance during times of uncertainty and transition. How blessed that it crossed my path today ๐

I was reading with my 3yo and he couldn't remember what the queen bee is called, so he said "princess bee". ๐ธ๐
My favourite thing about this age is that we finally get to understand how he sees the world, and sometimes it's absolutely adorable ๐ฅน

Now how's this for a gig location?

Friday afternoon.
These are the most simple but precious moments ๐

Me, feeling like everything I create has to be super unique and original or it's not good enough.
Meanwhile, on my 3yo's bookshelf... ๐

I'm a bit under the weather today, and my 3yo came and offered me some of his juice, which he got as a special treat, and said "This will make you better". He's an actual angel ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
I just want to take a moment to appreciate my husband
He has through a lot with his work this year. It has felt like an attack on him and, by extension, our family.
We think he became a target because he stuck his neck out for his workersโ safety. Around the start of this year, it became clear his employer was trying to get rid of him.
Through it all, my husband kept his composure.
When they tried to change his shifts so that he would see our 3-year-old only on weekends, he fought them and won.
But in June, they fired him, illegally, causing uproar among everyone who considered my husband a good supervisor and colleague.
In August, he found a new job that would at least pay the bills. But when he went to sign the contracts, it turned out not to be what was promised in terms of hours and transport offered, and they tried to cheat him out of his education bonuses.
He walked away, without anything else lined up.
The gamble paid off, and this week he was hired for a job that is better in every way than his original job.
He held firm to his principles and knew his worth, even when his livelihood was threatened.
Now his patience and perseverance have been rewarded.
His courage and bold leadership are an inspiration to me.
And I truly hope this will be the fresh start he deserves. ๐โค๏ธ

These outdoor reading opportunities are getting less frequent now, but we still have some sunny days โ๏ธ

This weekend I've been at my bandmate's cabin and we've been working on our sets for upcoming gigs and trying out some new tunes and songs.
Thankful for beautiful countryside, music and good friends ๐

GM! Normally you can see buildings from here... ๐ซ๐
