Who had "Wish I hadn't specialized in a now-automated engineering skill and spent a little more time trying to understand my stupid-i-mean-beautiful species" on their middle age bingo card? This guy.

Let's be generous to the BIP-110 side and say it's likely the case that half the people in the mentions can't even understand the wager that Lopp is proposing here. And the other half know they will lose. View quoted note →

Is anyone else weebed out by Bitcoiners being so desperate for an advocacy win, they leverage their authority over their own children to achieve it? It's cringe when vegans and religious nuts do it. 20 years from now, you'll have support groups for these kids who escaped *inhales cigarette, long exhale* "I swear to god all I wanted was a chair and something for dinner other than steak." The plebs are just little reaction machines at this point. They've been loaded up with biases and half-truths from all the dumb wellness/politics/conspiracy influencer slop that have been recycled, repackaged, and monetized as Bitcoin content. It's all practically an orthodoxy of defiant oppositional disorder dunces at this point.

I am finding that the volume of books I read is completely unrelated whether they change my mind. It is much better to trash a book if I'm not connecting with it after the first few chapters. It is much better to read the chapter of a good book four times: 1st pass: With the intent to understand the major ideas of a chapter 2nd pass: Highlighting the good supporting arguments, and asking questions in the margins with a pen 3rd pass: Turning your highlights and questions into written notes 4th pass: Turning your notes into an Obsidian notebook

"On net, has it really saved me any time? Negative. Quite the opposite, I figure I've spent more time toying with it than being productive. With continued use, I would expect I can continue to finagle it to do some of the more menial, every-day tasks and only trivially simplify my life."
