This age verification thing for social media has me thinking.
Won't the authoritarians eventually close the nostr mobile and desktop loophole by placing restrictions on app store approvals and website hosts?
What are we gonna do? All see each other on sided-loaded android apps over tor?

Bitcoin hedge wizard. Do not consult me unless as a last resort.
I feel like I must be insane for not seeing the value of a nostr remote signing device.
Add an extra manual step and a physical device to broadcast a single shitpost on social media? Who is asking for this?
"But Nostr isn't social media! It's a pRoTOcOL! More people will come if we just teach them about well-defined standardized software communications rulesets and we need to be prepared for when they inevitably ask about secure digital signatures and operational security! DoN't yoU sEE!?!!"
No wifi. No Bluetooth. No subscriptions. No phone call interruptions. Just a 3.5mm jack, a psychopath and 30,000 of his favorite mp3's.

For all the moaning a handful of irrelevant people do about "pleb slop", there doesnt seem to be any actual technical substance to supplement their grievances. The general formula seems to be to call plebs retarded and to defer to technologists, without any actual thoughtwork of their own.
Is the term "podcast" rooted in the iPod? It's wild we still call them that. Can't we call them something else, like, I dunno, doucheRips or twatiSodes or something?

Had to install Windows into a VirtualBox to get an iTunes installation that could re-initialize ye olde iPode. After that, works fine with Rhythmbox on Linux.

I'm so sick of both of these perspectives:
"There is no other way to interpret core's intentions other than malicious compromising of Bitcoin's purpose as money"
"There is no other way to I represent knot's inte tions other than malicious censorship."
Can you both just fuck off until you can stop talking like hyperventilating faggots.
Fuck the robots. We will find each other in spite of them.

People are complicated, dirty, hopeful, awful, beautiful, offensive messes of traumas and contradictions and dreams. If nostr is a public, commons billboard that maximizes the exhibition of that condition, it is a success. Any software that prioritizes that as a north star value is a win for humans.

If nostr is a place people can be themselves, that is enough. The "product" is the promise of a place where people can let it hang out, to the extent they want it to, without some trust and safety council saying "nooo not that way!"
I really have no idea what people want from nostr.
What do you want from it? Authenticity? Engagement slop? WHAT. WHAT DO YOU WANT.
