History & geopolitics through a #Bitcoin lense.
Like the ancient Chinese, Ottomans & Indian Moguls, medieval European rulers also tried to manage & supervise trade & commerce
But Europe was de-centralised & commerce was able to grow despite
The result was the blossoming of a civilisation that would create the modern world

Tokugawa Japan choose to cut itself off from the rest of the world.
So when Commodore Perry arrived in 1853 with superior technology there was little they could do but to concede to his demands.

The Ottomans had a great civilisation that turned inwards & missed the important technological changes of its time.
#Bitcoin is the antidote to civilisations turning inwards.

Chinese civilisation had this funny attribute that it always changed its conquerors instead of the other way around.
#Bitcoin is the same, it always changes the people it comes in contact with instead of the other way around.
"#Bitcoin maxis, can't live with them, can't live without them."
-Desiderius Erasmus

Rome would never have fallen on a #Bitcoin standard.

It's 476 AD...
Barbarians are pouring through the gates of Ancient Rome.
One of the greatest civilizations ever has fallen.
Could this have been...
#Bitcoin can't:
-be changed.
-be argued with.
-be tampered with.
-be corrupted.
-be stopped.
-be interrupted.
China could have "discovered" Europe 100 yrs before the first European ships in China.
It didn't because it's bureaucracy was too centralised.
The world is complex.
Consequences are impossible to foresee.
Centralised decision-making is dangerous.
Decentralisation is anti-fragile, and much more stable over the long-run.
#Bitcoin.
In 1700s π³π±The Netherlands grew its economy b/c of:
1. Invention of the stock exchange
2. Attracting industrious migrants
3. Enterprise spirit
4. Shifts in trade > from Med to Atlantic
Will 2024 be the year "GDP per capita" will be replaced by "#Bitcoin per capita"?
Bad demographics:
1- Less capital to invest
2- Less consumption
#Bitcoin:
1- Capital invested more efficiently
2- 100% of savings preserved leading to more consumption in the long run

#Bitcoin is superfood for the goose with the golden egg, called the free market.
#Bitcoin enforces rationality on governments, making them honest and transparent.
Creating strong countries & prosperous societies.
People make better investment decisions with a #Bitcoin standard.
Only the best projects get financed b/c of the opportunity cost of parting with #Bitcoin.
