While I know there are plenty of examples of land, particularly historically, being bought and sold to other countries. Like Alaska was bought from Russia, the US Virgin Islands from the Dutch, etc. But is there any examples, particularly in semi-modern history, of an **individual** buying sovereignty over a piece of land from another nation? I mean why should the country care who they sell to as long as they get the money. I figure the hard part would be defending the land as a single owner. Of course in practice im not sure countries sell land all to often these days.
Remember a vote for third party is avote for ::checks notes:: whoever you dont want to win apparently. Funny how it changes based on whoever will convince you most to support a 2-party system. Nah the most important vote is one against a 2-party system.
Facebook rule: posting female nipples will get you banned, unless a baby is sucking on one or more nipples in which case it is allowed. What they dont say is how old the baby has to be to qualify... if a 20 year old is doing the sucking, ban, if a 20 month old is doing it its fine.... So whats the cutoff before a person sucking on your nipple is too old to be allowed by the rules?
So I am starting a #FLOSS HAM community.. Think apache for Ham radio. The idea is to address the state of open source software and standards in HAM radio. Anyone, particularly open-source devs have any interest in talking to me about this, even if its just to make sure their ideas are considered as I launch... but people who want to help more directly are welcome too. #HAM #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #Amateur #Rf #Radio
Well this video of black conservatives debating white liberals was very interesting and inciteful. It really was more revealing to me of white liberals than black conservatives (who are more the exeception of the two)... Seeing white liberals getting offended at blacks for not being offended rather than **listening** spoke volumes.. You would think this would be the one scenario they would know not to preach and being a learning moment for them in some way... but no. That isnt to say i side with the black conservative view, not at all, I thought a lot of it was wrong.. But I do want to understand the view and listen to it...
So I found this cool new tool that looks like a very new take on the idea of a blocklist, not really sure I can even call it a block list. As I understand it it does a few things: 1) Only system administrators can get accounts, but users can view the data 2) a chain of trust which in and of itself only proves you arent a spammer. Anyone in the chain of trust can add other instances. Once an instance is in the chain then their admin can get an account and contribute 3) an instance in the chain of trust can add up to 20 other instances to the chain of trust. Should the instance loose their trust from their parent then the entire chain breaks including instances it trusted. 4) You can add endorsements.. this is stronger than adding someone to the chain of trust. It is a way of you saying "this is a good server" and explaining what features make them a server you endorce 5) You can censure instances too, these are instances you block and give reasons why. 6) there are also lesser categories like hesitations where you can list concerns but not suggesting blocking. 7) All this can be automatically populated from your instances black/white list if you wish. Or you can add entries manually 8) you get a little badge you can put on your servers about me that shows the number of endorsements you have live. I do highly encourage everyone to check it out. #Mastoadmin #Fedivers #moderation #moderating #fediblock
Found a nice little group of guys, mostly in west virginia who apparently are on 3.803MHz every night 8 - 9pm... it is right in the sweet spot for my antenna (80 meters band i have a limited window where it tunes up very nicely). Happy I found the group so i have something to do. All really clear tonight, s9+10 so very promising. its about a 280 mile contact, which is pretty decent for 80m too. #Ham #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #Radio #RF #ee View quoted note โ†’
