Just had a thought regarding warentless searches of cars... The automobile search doctrine allows cars to be searched without a warrant so long as there is probable cause and the car is "readily mobile". So if a cop says he is going to search your car, or you think he is about to, and you have something illegal, just slash your tires. Now it is no longer readily mobile and any warentless search would be illegal. #ACAB #Law
Its soooo hard for me to take any group seriously that can ask me to vote for Biden and in the same breath sincerely argue the man isnt senile. At least if they admited his obvious senility it woukd show enough self awareness of the party that i might even consider getting on board. #USPol #Biden
Why are there no high volatility (low boiling point) edible oils for cooking. I know it wouldnt be useful for frying, but it would be useful for all sorts of extractions, like for making hot sauce or powder. Right now i use nonedible oils in a lab setting to make stuff like this. But surely therr is some sort of volatile edible oil you could use for this. Im wondering if lemon essential oil, which is fairly volatile might work. Gotta be careful though, that stuff will melt right through plastic.... Might need to experiment.
I can say without a doubt of all technically oriented communities the HAM radio community is by far the most rude, hostile, and least educated in their field of any group. The amount of just pure idiocy and lack of understanding of even the basics is astonishing considering this is a licensed trade. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #EE #RF
Hit a new low weight on my diet crossing another double digit mark. Its only a few fractions of a pound below my last low, but still nice to see the double digits roll down. I cant help but feel my progress is a bit too slow though. Ive lost about 16 lbs in 2 months and i feel the pacing could be much greater. #Ozempic #Semaglutide #Diet #WeightLoss
Woman: I am into style and fashion Me: Yea me too! Woman: Oh cool, whats your favorite style? Me: I'm really into those small bikinis where the woman's boobies poke out from the under side of the bikini.... Man I just love fashion! Woman: ::blank stare::
Interesting fact of the day: A gravitational wave, having energy, also generates its own gravitational field in addition to itself. Though this field is insanely weak. Note this is not the same as saying a gravitational field has its own gravitational field. It is only the wave that has energy, and thus its own field. A gravitational wave only occurs when an object with a gravitational field accelerates (and orbiting another object counts as acceleration).
Just FYI apparently #Universeodon has switched to the incredibly abusive and poorly maintained oliphant block list that is itself dictated, in part, of mastodon.art's abusive block list. See my response here: As well as the Admin admitting this is the case here: very disappointed in their lack of due diligence. #Mastoadmin #Fediblock View quoted note โ†’
While I know there are plenty of examples of land, particularly historically, being bought and sold to other countries. Like Alaska was bought from Russia, the US Virgin Islands from the Dutch, etc. But is there any examples, particularly in semi-modern history, of an **individual** buying sovereignty over a piece of land from another nation? I mean why should the country care who they sell to as long as they get the money. I figure the hard part would be defending the land as a single owner. Of course in practice im not sure countries sell land all to often these days.
