Referring to the idea of you wanting someone to convince you that nobody would steal your book ideas. Its an impossible task to ensure nobody could do so 100% in today's digital age we have ways to gate keep digital infotainment but that doesn't stop it from spreading. Good information/news/books want to be free always.You can only defend the physical copies of the book. You could never stop someone from hacking your PC and getting your ideas if they really wanted. Now with the ability to digitally distribute such ideas quickly someone trying to copy your ideas and calling it their own would be called out quickly. I believe this is lacking in today's society but I believe in world of honest money those wishing to steal ideas like you suppose would be called out fast. In a hard money economy I believe this could be settled in civil courts very easily. But this ability to sue anyone who takes your characters or worlds you create and add to or iterate upon would go to the way side. Also when I said things I didn't mean just random things in general I meant obviously market tested ideas that survive to be a profitable endeavor. I believe this was the episode where you ignorantly spouted the idea that Intellectual property is an idea worth keeping. But the entire notion that you can own an idea is farcical. If I share an idea with you and you with me we both now have 2 ideas. The nature of information is its easily replicable. You can never own an idea. Proof of this is your bitcoin private key. The only reason you " own" the bitcoin associated with this key is because you share it WITH NO ONE. as soon as you share it with another its no longer yours. The notion that nobody would build anything if there weren't patent cartels inflicting violence upon others is nonsense. We made things for years and years before they were around. Patents stagnate a market as those that come up with the idea no longer have to iterate upon said ideas and make them better can just sit on their ass and sue anyone who tries. The more ideas we have and more people attempting those ideas means we have more things, more things is what makes us more wealthy. Welp 38 is finally here. Today is my birthday. Reflecting back, it's been quite the journey through this experience we call life. I'm glad we've got this little corner of the internet where we can just be whatever without a care. I've brought 3 children into this world, hoping for at least one more. Fatherhood has been one of the greatest things I've ever done. Coming from a home without one, I knew I could never let my own children know what that feels like. As I sit out here in the dark of the early morning baby sleeping away in her bed. I'm reminded just how much life still has to offer each of us. There's so much more out there to do, to learn, to conquer, to love. I hope today finds you in some small facet in the way it's found me. We do as cub as we can, and the biggest battle is just showing up. So show up.
