What better way to celebrate than making pizza from scratch?
Hereβs my go-to pizza dough recipe β simple, delicious, and perfect for a crispy, chewy homemade pizza night.
Sourdough or Not Pizza Dough Recipe
Makes 2 pizzas ππ
Ingredients
* 320g bread flour
* 225g water
(add 30β50g more if using yeast instead of sourdough starter)
* 60g sourdough starter
(or 0.5β1g dry yeast)
* 6g salt
* 6g extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
1. Mix
Combine everything until no dry flour remains.
The dough will look rough and shaggy at first β donβt worry, time does the hard work.
2. Rest & Fold
* Rest 30 mins
* Stretch and fold
* Repeat this 3 times total
Youβll see the dough become smoother and stronger after each set.
3. Rise
Divide into 2 dough balls and let them rise until doubled.
You can:
* Bake them the same day, or
* Cold ferment overnight in the fridge for even better flavor.
If refrigerated, let the dough come back to room temperature before baking.
4. Bake
* Heat oven to 250Β°C
* Stretch the dough however you like
* First bake with just sauce for 7β9 mins
* Add toppings and bake another 5β7 mins until bubbly and golden
