I can no longer understand the outcomes of collective human action as being driven by anything other than individual belief - through all the ways nature has for instilling and manifesting belief. These outcome, and our history, are not driven by collective intent or intelligence. The concept of individual intelligence using information to precipitate an intended outcome does not generalize to a concept of a collective intent. I think there is a bigger story here than ProPublica reports. When the people sue the state, are they suing themselves? Perhaps the state’s attorney general is to provide defense, but what if the attorney general sides with the people? lt seems to me that when honest people are given a choice between justice and law things start changing.
