Hey everyone, I've been exploring the Nostr ecosystem and initially set up my account with Iris.to, linking it to my Strike account for zapping. However, I've encountered some issues when trying to streamline zaps on both Primal and Amethyst, both on web and mobile platforms. Recently, I learned that Primal has integrated with Strike, which seems like a smart move for simplifying onboarding with a non-custodial wallet. Despite this, I'm struggling to set up a native wallet within Primal and to effectively send zaps using both Primal and Amethyst. Could anyone shed light on what might be causing these issues? Any advice or solutions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated! #asknostr @Vitor Pamplona @jack mallers @miljan @Sirius image

Now that Telegram us compromised, and WhatsApp and Signal are Israeli inteligence, I don't see a choice but to use #nostr. The gravitational force is strong 💪.
The integration of Nostr with Bitcoin, particularly through the Lightning Network, represents a transformative leap in the world of micropayments, making them scalable and practical—an idea first envisioned by Ted Nelson in the 1960s. Nelson, a pioneering computer philosopher, introduced the concept of micropayments as part of his broader vision for a hypertext-based digital world, where small payments could be made for content. While this idea remained largely theoretical for decades due to technological limitations, the combination of Nostr and Bitcoin has finally brought it to fruition. Nostr, a decentralized social network protocol, leverages the Lightning Network to enable secure, fast, and cost-effective transactions, overcoming the high fees associated with traditional payment systems. Platforms like Nostr have introduced features like 'Zaps,' allowing users to send small amounts of Bitcoin as tips, thereby monetizing content in novel ways. The Lightning Network’s design supports near-instant transactions at scale, and the introduction of user-friendly wallets such as Alby and Wallet of Satoshi has simplified the process for everyday users. This innovation not only enhances the user experience but also fosters a unified ecosystem where digital identity and payments can be managed seamlessly across services. In regions with limited financial infrastructure, such as LATAM, this combination of Nostr and Bitcoin has proven transformative, offering a revolutionary payment solution. Together, Nostr and the Lightning Network are redefining digital transactions, realizing Nelson’s early vision and positioning Bitcoin as a viable currency for everyday microtransactions. @jack mallers @miljan @Mir @Nostriga
Nostr’s Moment: A Golden Opportunity for Small Creators With the decentralized power of Nostr, now is the perfect time for small accounts to grow and make their mark. 🌱 Here’s how I’m diving in: Daily Strategy: I’m crafting a routine that includes curating my inspiration lists, engaging meaningfully with others, posting impactful content, and building connections through DMs. Embracing Decentralization: Nostr’s censorship-resistant platform is a fortress against authoritarian control. In a world where centralization stifles voices, Nostr stands as a beacon of freedom and privacy. Parallel Growth on X: By building on both Nostr and X, I’m maximizing exposure while safeguarding against the risks of centralized platforms. This dual approach ensures I can reach a wider audience while maintaining the freedom Nostr offers. Focus on Growth: Nostr offers a unique space where quality content can thrive without interference. It’s more than just a platform—it’s a community where genuine connections and organic growth can flourish. This is a powerful moment for small accounts looking to expand their reach and connect with like-minded creators. 🚀 If you’re ready to seize this opportunity, introduce yourself below so we can support each other’s growth on Nostr (and X)! 🤝image
The recent arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, in France serves as a stark reminder of the growing battle over who controls information. Authorities detained Durov for allegedly failing to censor content they found objectionable, underscoring an alarming trend toward increased censorship. This situation highlights why platforms like Nostr are becoming essential in today's world. Decentralization: Unlike Telegram, which, despite its privacy features, still relies on a central point of control, Nostr operates on a decentralized network. This means there’s no single entity that can be pressured or forced into censorship. Information is spread across many nodes, making it inherently resistant to centralized control and manipulation. Censorship Resistance: On Nostr, content isn’t hosted on just one server or managed by a single company. Users broadcast their posts to the network, and others can choose to relay or ignore them. This design makes it incredibly difficult for any authority to impose censorship without shutting down the entire internet. Open Source: Nostr’s protocol is open-source, meaning its code is transparent and can be reviewed by anyone. This openness ensures that surveillance or censorship backdoors are unlikely to be implemented without detection, offering a higher level of trust and security. User Control: Nostr gives users true control over their data. They hold the keys to their identity and information, allowing them to move their data to any client or server they trust. This flexibility ensures that users, not corporations or governments, own their information. The arrest of Durov for resisting censorship demands is a chilling reminder of the risks centralized platforms face. Platforms like Nostr aren’t just alternatives; they represent a fundamental shift toward a model where freedom of speech is the foundation, not just a feature. In an era where information control is tightening, Nostr stands as a beacon for decentralized, uncensored communication. This is more than just technology; it’s about safeguarding the fundamental right to free expression in the face of growing authoritarian control. image
