I have been thinking about building a small library in python for bitcoin node admins to better monitor connectivity of their node with the network. Something that allows you to visualize on a map all those visible nodes not on Tor you are connected with. This would allow you to work with something like bitnodes to maximize your contribution to the network on basis of a rule of your choice. For example, you could make sure to include nodes in remote regions or censored countries, or only nodes that avoid redundancy at the second hop - and so forth. I am wondering how many node operators on here would be interested on something like this? Let’s connect 👇

If you’re rude towards me, the best thing I can do is broadcast your shittiness to the world. And you’re welcome!
I am shamelessly Nostr pilling strangers on twitter
People that resists the jump from Twitter to Nostr are literally fighting an existential fight for their ego
I have been thinking a lot lately about why the social experience on Nostr is so much better than on Twitter. Last week I mostly logged in there to publish my npub, and even for such a short time I felt triggered by the content and the peopel.
In first place the absence of an algorithm editing and mediating the experience has a massive impact on the experience. Also the absence of a max string length to the notes improves expressiveness and avoids misunderstandings and people nuking others just because of absence of context to make sense of what people says. But it’s not only the tec spec… we’re all bitcoiners basically in here, this means that there is enough “social cohesion” to lubricate interactions and avoid useless friction.
How long will it stay like this? I honestly don’t know, and I fear that mass adoption might spoil this situation. But on the other hand, mass adoption it’s very good news for the world. I strongly believe that once Twitter won’t be in the picture anymore, the world will be a better place.
Just updated Damus. I am impressed by the improvement, the app runs smoother on my old iPhone. It seems that notification also are a tad better.
Many people in the BTC sphere shit on Binance, yet again in the light of the concerns surrounding Silvergate, it proved to have no connections with them either as it was with FTX and other shady players in the past that ended up collapsing. Give the devil his due anyone?!
